Your impact, twice the power.
Help us raise $300,000 for grass-roots organization this #GivingTuesday.
We believe in the power of activism and standing in solidarity with frontline communities to protect the planet's biodiversity and support ecosystem resilience. This #GivingTuesday, we are providing customers with an opportunity to support Indigenous Peoples in the Andes and the Amazon directly, to hold political leaders accountable for climate action and to support communities most impacted by climate disasters.
On December 3rd, 2019, Lush will be matching up to $150,000 of Charity Pot Body Lotion purchases. These funds will directly support five chosen organizations. The Charity Pot sales will go straight into the fund, of which we donate 100 percent to grassroots organizations working on human rights, environmental justice and animal protection.
Meet our #GivingTuesday Partners:
Amazon Watch has protected the rainforest and advanced the rights of Indigenous Peoples in the Amazon Basin. They partner with Indigenous and environmental organizations in campaigns for human rights, corporate accountability and the preservation of the Amazon's ecological systems. Their work focuses on stopping destruction in the Amazon, advancing Indigenous solutions and supporting the climate justice movement.
Matching funds will support affected communities in Brazil and the protection and security for frontline Indigenous land defenders in the Amazon.
Their focus is on mobilizing young people to make climate change an urgent priority across America while creating millions of good jobs in the process. They call for an end to the corrupt influence of fossil fuel executives on politics and push forward leaders who will stand up for the health and wellbeing of all people. They are transforming the hearts and minds of Americans to back bigger, bolder solutions to stop climate change.
Matching funds will support a youth voter program that will reach 2 million young people to elect Green New Deal champions across the country.
Aliados is working in partnership with Indigenous Peoples to create resilient community businesses based on biodiversity and solutions for long-term ecosystem stewardship in the Andes and the Amazon. They focus on community entrepreneurship and sustainable management of vital tropical ecosystems that will result in prosperous outcomes for Indigenous forest communities.
Matching funds will support an incubator for four community enterprises where participants will connect with trainers, mentors, coaches and financial partners, resulting in the sustainable management of natural resources, covering an area of 32,050 hectares.
Climate Action Network Canada
Climate Action Network Canada is a coalition of over 100 organizations from coast to coast that cares about how a changing climate affects people, plants and wildlife. Now in their 30th year, CAN continues to be the only national organization with a mandate to promote the interests of the Canadian climate movement as a whole rather than one individual organization.
Matching funds will go towards community consultations and the creation of Discussion Papers to inform politicians and the public about what is needed to form a comprehensive climate plan. This will also provide platforms from lobbying, organizing and mobilizing purposes to bring about a united vision for a justice-based transition.
They redefine disaster relief by engaging communities to replant lost trees. Their volunteer-based programs transform moonscapes back into landscapes, bringing joy, hope and a renewed sense of environmental identity to families struggling to rebuild. Their model attracts a diverse group of stakeholders and ensures that the right tree is planted in the right place, the right way, at the right time of year.
Matching funds will support rebuilding communities and putting more trees in the ground for post-natural disaster relief in the United States.
We believe it's our responsibility to advocate for animals, people and the planet continually and to give back to organizations locally and around the world. Please join us in our efforts this #GivingTuesday and beyond, and let's be the catalysts for change that the world needs.
Thank you for all that you do and your continued support in advancing the rights for all.
