To all our Halloween-fanatic Lushies,
Just because we need to remain socially distanced this year, doesn't mean Halloween is canceled—it just means we need to brainstorm creative quarantine Halloween ideas. I repeat, Halloween is not canceled! Spread the word.
Here are five fun ways to keep the treats comin', the vibe rising and the full moon shining:
What's that, you ask? It’s trick-or-treating…2020 style. It's when you create a treat bag of goodies for a friend or neighbor and leave it on their doorstep with a note inside to pass it on (as in, create a new treat bag and "ghost" someone else).
Grab a few of our limited edition Halloween products, such as Boo! Shower Slime, Punkin Pumpkin and Monsters´ Ball Bath Bombs, the bestseller Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb or our newest Bat Art Bath Bomb and wrap them with our festive knot-wraps for the perfect "Halloween-from-home care kit”. Or for an easy A+, you could get them one of our seasonal gifts, like They Only Come Out At Night, which features a couple of returning faves back to haunt for another year, as well as some brand-new critters you're sure to love.
It's a festive way to spread some safe and ethical holiday cheer.
Set the tub, the mood and the tunes!
Maybe this year we have to change dance parties for your own tub party. Make it an occasion, decorate your bathroom, light a few candles, pick your favorite Halloween bath bomb and let that spooky-inspired playlist play loud and proud.
Here's a good playlist with all the oldies but goodies to bring back that Halloween old school vibe. Pair it with Bewitched Bubble Bar or Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb for the ultimate hair-raising nostalgia.
But if you are looking for a more fantasy sentiment, here's the ultimate kid-friendly Halloween playlist to sing along. Drop Punkin Pumpkin, Bat Art or Monsters´ Ball for a fun and colorful critter party!
Scavenger Hunt—Home Edition
Decorate themed rooms in your house. Hide treats throughout the rooms, use some flashlights and send everyone on a scavenger hunt with all the lights off to discover all the hidden objects.
Top tip: You can hide Ghost In The Dark Soap and do a "black-out" final round without the flashlights. Yes, it actually glows in the dark!
Ghostly Nights around the World
You might not be able to travel the globe right now, but you can do it from the tv room. Find some good movies, documentaries or pictures and explore with your family and friends Día de Los Muertos in Mexico, Samhain in Ireland and Scotland, Dzień Zaduszny in Poland or Ghost Festival in East Asia. Celebrate and learn from these other traditions, maybe consider cooking or baking traditional foods and making crafts associated with those international holidays.
All you need is paper (or a cardboard box, maybe from your lush package!), some scissors and a lamp. Draw your creepy-critters and cut them out; you can also tape or glue a popsicle stick to the bottom of each figure as an optional handle. If you're feeling very ambitious, you could film the shadow show and set it to some "Halloweenesque" music.
Use our colorful Rainbow or Aliens And Monsters Fun bars and turn them into unique characters. These multi-purpose bars were made to keep imaginations running wild and when it's time to clean up, Fun can do that too!
You can save your creation or use them in your next bath! Crumble a bit of Fun under running water and watch the bubbles rise. If you are more of the shower type, suds up just as you would with your regular bar of soap or use it as shampoo and just lather up with your favorite scent and work the bar in from root to tip.
Stay safe in style
If you do decide to venture out, make your own face covering for the season! Recycle some Halloween-themed fabric from an old costume or grab one of our adorable Knot-Wraps (even better if it's from our Halloween collection) and follow this fab video for an easy step-by-step on how to make your own face cover with a Lush knot-wrap, no sewing machine needed!
Good to know, our 2020 Halloween collection is out in the wild. Don't forget to put aside a couple of this years’ not-so-creepy critters for yourself before they disappear!
