Fragrant and floral
Sweet and floral with subtle green undertones, osmanthus absolute has a soothing effect and is a popular perfume ingredient.
Osmanthus absolute is obtained from the Osmanthus fragrans plant, which is also known as "sweet olive". The oil is produced by solvent extraction of the fragrant orange flowers, producing a thick, dark brown liquid. It takes about 1,000 kilos of flowers to create around one kilo of osmanthus absolute, making it a highly sought-after but costly oil.
