Love this!

Levittown pa | 4 days ago

Ok after deciding to remove permanent hair color from hair using a more "natural " way (vitamin c pills ground up and added to extra strength dandruff shampoo) my curly strawberry blonde locks felt like straw! I saw the reviews of people complaining about the coconut chunks left in their hair but I tried it anyway! It made my hair sooo soft! Here is a tip: take a fine tooth comb into the shower to remove any chunks! I will be going back for the larger size when I need more. Follow with candy rain conditioner.

Works for straight hair too!

San Jose, CA | 5 days ago

I have fine straight hair but I got a sample for this shampoo today at my local Lush. I tried it with the Daddy-O conditioner bar and I LOVE it! It smells amazing (this after I fried tofu and cooked dinner) and my hair is extra soft. I didn't notice any coconut bits from when I was brushing my hair - idk if that's cause my hair is straight or if I just thoroughly rinsed it out. I would get a full size of this shampoo to add to my shampoo rotation.

Great but...

I have wavy/curly hair. It worked well, kept it moisturized, i felt like my hair was more curly, it smelt good, and my hair did not get greasy. On the contrary, the coconut chunks were super annoying. I couldn't wash all of them out. I had to sweep my floor everytime i washed my hair to make sure my cat didn't eat the coconut shavings... i guess you could brush your hair in the shower. It did also clog the shower quicker than usual

Aside from the smell, I absolutely love this shampoo

Braintree, MA | 1 month ago

I have somewhere between wavy and curly hair. I also have an aversion to anything that smells like coconut, but this shampoo is worth it. Helps keep the frizz down, looks nice and strong, as well as moisturized. I don't really like the feel of the chunks, but since my hair is a little more relaxed, they're easy to pull out. I'm happy with the shampoo, but I do wish Lush had more options for curly hair, beyond the shampoo.

Smells good but chunks of coconut hinder me from rebuying

I like the shampoo overall (in terms of smell and cleansing power). However, the coconut chunks within the product are its downfall. The small pieces of coconut (paired with the amount of hair that usually sheds during wash day) clogs my shower almost every time.

Best Shampoo I've Found for My Hair

Buffalo, NY | 1 month ago

I have been using this for over 2 yrs, and I love it! My hair is very long, with a medium curl that tends to frizz at the ends. This product is chunky, but I don't have the same issue rinsing it out that other commenters have experienced. I think the "trick" might be vigorously scrubbing the scalp with fingertips, then working the product down the rest of your hair. I do spend a little more time rinsing than w/ drug store shampoo, and I find the coconut pieces in my drain trap, but it's 100% worth it!

Curly girls do not buy this!!

Atlanta, ga | 1 month ago

This is not meant for curly hair at all 😂 the chunks just get stuck in your curls even after rinsing for a long period of time. Looks awful with dark hair and it's embarrassing having people pick coconut chunks out of your hair. They really should have done more research and human testing, because they got this wrong. Would buy their rehab shampoo instead of this.

I would by this again

Love the smell and feel but hate the residue left over

Baltimore, MD | 2 months ago

I love the smell and the way it makes my hair feel but I do hate the coconut chunks left behind. Because I have curly hair they do not all come out with rinsing. I tend to find them when I run the comb or brush through my wet hair which is fine it is before I have to go in public. I wish that Lush would make this but a creamy version, it really reminds me of the rice cake shampoo bar which smells the same and does wonder for my curls.

I tend to use this product only in the winter. With natural summer oils and sweat I find it is too oily.... but in the winter months when the air is dryer it is an awesome product. I try and keep it away from my scalp where the natural oils are already and use a regular shampoo free of sulfates and parabens when the scalp needs a clean. (A LUSH recommendation would be good) So the only down fall I see is the large container and a short shelf life. I have never had an issue with the coconut flakes, they wash out of my hair without an issue.
