Over half the base of Big Shampoo is made with sea salt to help give massive volume to hair in need of a boost. Sea salt is also full of minerals and de-greases hair, removing dead skin cells and dirt without stripping natural oils for a fresh, squeaky clean feeling. We balance the sea salt with seaweed infusion and extra virgin coconut oil for soft, nourished locks. Finally, fresh citrus juices are squeezed in for incredible shine. It's no wonder this one's a best-seller!

Big Surprise

Savannah | 8 days ago

I have long, fine hair that typically responds very well to sea salt, both at the beach, and to hair care products. I was quite surprised to find that after using this shampoo multiple times, my hair was flatter than it had been in a while. And, multiple strands of my hair fell out! This did not give my hair the salty texture or volume I was expecting. Also be sure to read the ingredient list before purchasing, as this item does contain sulfates!

The only shampoo I ever want to use

NY | 12 days ago

I was wowed by this shampoo the first time I tried and still get that same feeling each time I use it! The smell is great, the sea salt is an excellent cleanser, and my hair is always so soft for days after a wash. Love it!

Soft and Soft

CA | 14 days ago

Used it for the first time tonight; I actually took what had only gotten on the inside of the lid to run through my hair in the shower. My hair is already very thick and kinda big. I mostly just got this because I needed some moisture, so as far as volume goes, I don't notice a difference, BUT my hair is noticeably softer than before, and it smells good! The only negative thing I would say is that when I took it out of the box, whoever put it together didn't secure the lid, so it was partially unscrewed and there was a mess around the lip of the container. Luckily, I didn't find any spillage in the shipping box. It was just disappointing and annoying to immediately have a mess on my hands when I picked up the container.

I can never go back-

Texas | 25 days ago

It stripped my hair in the best ways possible. My hair is less greasy and shinier then when I was using normal shampoo. I did not notice much on added volume, but I am forever grateful for how clean my hair feels.

Super scrubby

Kitchener | 28 days ago

I started using Big a couple months ago around when I decided to work on getting my wave/curl pattern back. I use it a couple times a week on wash days, and follow with Veganese. I love the scrub this gives my scalp and have noticed less dandruff since using it. I LOVE the smell too. I do find it a bit hard to spread in my hair, a little goes a long way and leaves hair very clean, but it can be tricky getting it out of the jar and rubbed into each section of my hair as the salt kind of traps it in places (I do have extremely fine strands but thick hair, and it's long, so if you had shorter or less thick hair, you'd probably not have this issue). Every once in awhile I'll find a chunk of salt in my hair after leaving the shower but generally it rinses well. I will say that I have to be careful to really brush my hair out well (in the shower while conditioner soaked) because sometimes I get tiny knotted patches near my roots that I think are from the abrasiveness of the salt. The body it gives my hair and the lightness makes the small bit of knotting worth it, and I'm still able to get away with only brushing/combing in the shower, so I would recommend this product to a friend, but with the caveat that you can't go into using it expecting it to be like using a regular cream shampoo

Freed Me of My Eczema!

CA | 29 days ago

I wash my hair once or twice a week, so I use this for all my washes. I use the Veganese afterwards. I LOVE THIS STUFF, when I turned 28 my crown started itching a lot, but there were no dandruff flakes. TWO dermatologists and my PCP were like your head seems a bit red but maybe it's eczema and gave me gloopy steroids to try to massage through my hair. I was discussing my issue with my hairdresser and she said one of her clients has terrible head eczema and it calmed down after going to the ocean. Thus I started my search for a SALT shampoo. I LOVE the giant salt crystals in here, the are massive, and sometimes they hurt my head, or my feet if I accidentally step on them, but I don't care, my head doesn't itch ever! My husband uses the I Love Juicy, and though that too contains salt, it doesn't do it for me. Learning to wash your hair with this stuff takes a bit of time, but my hairdresser is impressed and says my hair is super healthy!

Gets the job done.

Chicago, IL | 30 days ago

Like all my shampoo, it takes about 2-3 washes for it to get soapy on my hair. This shampoo does exactly what it claims to do, leaving my hair both soft and shiny. The rough ingredient used occasionally irritates my scalp and pinches my feet when it falls on the floor, but it's not that concerning. Thanks for making such a good product!

so far so good with sample

boston | 1 month ago

I'd say I have wavy to curly hair. I struggle because I like to tame the curl. So far from the sample I like how my hair feels after using this. I use it with the Veganese conditioner (also a sample) I like both and feel the work well together. I also have a bottle of Wasabi Shan Kui. I like it but I think I may like this a little more. Rinses out of my hair a little easier than Wasabi Shan Kui. Once my sample runs out I plan to buy the small jar with small Veganese conditioner. Hair is soft and it's not a frizzy as it usually gets.

Love at first ... scrub?

Lucan | 1 month ago

I basically use this every time I wash my hair, then I don't even condition- I just step out of the shower and 15 hours later my hair looks amazing... (yes it takes at LEAST that long to dry...) I have a TON of hair and it is wavy, but the kind that usually ends up looking like an 80's hair band stuck their fingers in a light socket... oof.. not with this stuff though, it comes out looking perfect - like an 80's hairband with a diffuser! 10/10 Lush
