Banish oil and boost shine with this scrubby sea salt shampoo bar. We've loaded this low-waste wonder with naturally cleansing lemon oil to cut grease, Roman chamomile oil to soothe scalps and hand-harvested coarse sea salt to add vivacious volume to lackluster locks. A little fair trade organic cocoa butter rounds things out to keep everything smooth. So don't be shy: turn the volume on high and shine on.
Since 2012, our shampoo bars have saved 22.5 million plastic bottles from being produced. That's 620 tonnes, or the weight of six blue whales!

Made me feel Great!

star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-filled

I had been researching different hair care products because my hair gets pretty oily even after one wash. Sometimes when I go to sleep with wet hair the back of my head feels like I didn't get all the shampoo out and gets that stuck together feeling. That's when I decided to look at Lush's hair care and shampoo bars. I went to the nearest Lush and due to the new social distancing guidelines I felt like I was getting priority treatment from the employees. I told her all the problems I have with my hair and what I was looking for: to fix my oiliness, help with dryness and flakiness at the front of my scalp, and add a bit of volume. She recommended the Flyaway Hair bar and I was sold. I used it the night I bought it and woke up the next morning feeling great! My hair was soft, shiny, and actually had volume! It wasn't just sitting flat and sad on my head! Using the bar was a different experience since I had never used a shampoo bar before. In the store I could barely smell what it smelled like but I think it's because it smells so much like the store itself. When I used it my shower was filled with the amazing smell of the bar and worked up quite a lather. I opted for rubbing it directly on my head instead of lathering it in my hands because of the salt on top. Overall, I definitely recommend this shampoo bar and can't wait to buy another when this one is out!

Never going back after trying shampoo bars!

I haven't found my holy grail formula yet, but Flyway Hair worked well for keeping my fine, straight hair clean and not too flat, and smells great. The biggest plus is the shampoo bar format - it works well, and you can feel great about an eco-friendly option. I have not had the usage problems that others have had - if your bar is crumbling, try to keep it in a place in the shower where it can dry in between. At the end, it does start to crumble like a bar of soap, but you can use the pieces. If you have trouble with lathering, try rubbing the bar directly against already-wet hair, and get the bar wet as well if you continue to have problems. After getting used to the bars, I have no problem lathering and my hair gets just as clean, if not cleaner, than with bottled shampoo.

My scalp is oily and I have a lot of fine hair that is wavy when air dried. The seawater in the mix and citrus oils leave my scalp and hair squeaky clean without residue. I have tried most of the shampoo bars and have found my HG. I used New for a few years until I found this and it is more gentle and effective. Yes, I could do without the salt on top. I scrape it off. Lather is perfect! ♡♡♡

Crumbly, half the product goes down drain

This shampoo does fine for my hair (seanik is better), but the real issue is how it's uses. The sea salt on top makes it harder to lather in your hands and crumbles off anyway. It's purely aesthetic and makes usage harder. The bar also seems soft, and breaks easy with use. It doesn't break clean, and you end up with a lot of little pieces. If you throw these away, you'll end up throwing away most your product. Trying to use them is difficult, and much of it goes down the drain anyway. Hair wise it does fine. Cleans pretty well, but isn't particularly great for volume or oil control.

SUPER messy

I've tried almost every other Lush shampoo bar and this is the only bar that is super messy to use. The results were great, the smell is great, but the bar melts after one use and leaves residue everywhere and never dries back up again. Would not buy again just because its hard to use :/

Makes my hair voluminous and so soft!

i was so excited to use this, especially after they discontinued godiva :(( however, this shampoo bar was way too string for my hair, making it frizzy and dry. i have straight hair of normal thickness, and this made my hair noticeably thinner :((

I Like It

I use this alternating with New shampoo bar which is more stripping IMO. Flyway doesn't lather quite as well as it seems to have a higher oil content, perhaps. It does tame the frizz a bit. Not totally magical. It's all about the conditioner for me anyway. But I have hair that gets oily after a few days so wash it frequently. It definitely doesn't make my hair dry, but does seem to bodify my fine, wavy, medium thickness hair. The smell is a much more subtle version of Big. Soft vanilla. I haven't been bothered by the salt on top. I think it's just for decor and dissolves pretty much after wetting it once or twice.

I really liked the smell, even though it is a bit more subtle than some of the other bars. However, I have a couple issues with this shampoo bar. First, the salt on top came off and would just get stuck in my hair when I rubbed it on my head like I do with others. So I resorted to lathering in my hands but I found the salt quite sharp, so scraped it off. My second issue was mostly that it didn't feel like it I was getting as much product off the bar. I washed as I normally would and my hair was visibly still oily after my hair dried (I do have quite an oily scalp). I basically had to wash my hair twice with this bar to get the results I normally would with one wash. I would definitely not recommend this to fellow oily scalp people but it sounds like it might work better for someone who produces an average or lower amount of oil.

The bar is really cute and smells fantastic, but that's kind of where the positives end for me. My hair can be quite frizzy, so I was excited to try this out. Somehow, it makes my hair frizzier. Before my hair even dries, it begins to feel like straw. It does clean well and keeps the grease away. But it is not worth it for how blah my hair feels and looks after. Even pairing it with a deep conditioner doesn't help too much. And with other LUSH shampoo bars, I don't have to use conditioner at all! Very disappointed in this bar.
