Did not work at all no matter how many times applied. I was extremely excited to try a chemical free product, but very disappointed in the end: The dye did not take at all to my grays, a stark contrast to the instruction claims. Product was also very difficult to work with.

just didnt work

I tried this product twice and I wanted to love it and that was 4 hours each time I did this. The employee told me to keep it on for 4 hours for a better color to hold. Boy did it not hold; it maybe gave a light tint, but barely can see it. My hair is dyed, like an orange, blonde hue. It didnt do much. It was really messy though, you do need to add like a towel everywhere because it can go all over the place. I have short hair, pixie haircut, so I thought it would go well. I used about half a block, and didnt make no changes.

Self-care all the way!

This product is great for self-care. You're not harming your hair in anyway, like we do when we dye our hair, it's affordable, it conditions, shines and adds luscious color. I highly recommend. I loved to dye my hair before, it would damage it and I would pay a lot of money doing it. This henna has brought back my shine and leaves my hair feeling like butter. I use it with the avocado bar and power conditioner…love all three products!

Not Worth It

Followed all the instructions and watched several how to videos. SUPER messy and took about 5 hours from start to finish (including clean up). My hair is shinier than before but the color is the exact same. Didn't cover my lighter roots at all. Disappointed.

Best natural hair color/treatment I've found yet

So yes, this product is a bit time consuming and a bit messy- especially for someone like myself. However, I keep going back time after time because I have not found anything that works as great! Not to mention I feel super wonderful about spending my dollars with a company like this. I mix Brun with Noir for a super rich and deep espresso brown. A straight forward chop with a butcher knife, smaller chunks are better, then add boiling water. Start with a little at a time. I've never done the double boiler method and it's always turned out perfect. Once the majority of the henna chunks are melted and I've got a nice cake batter consistency, it's go time. Definitely recommend laying down an old towel or sheet for protection. I use their Ultrabland to create a barrier around my hair line. P.S. also one of my favs. I section my hair with a claw clip and go nuts. It's chunky, it's gnarly, but again, totally worth it. After a few hours- depending on my schedule, 2-4 typically, I take a nice hot shower and then just condition, Candy Rain for the win. My hair is left looking shiny, vibrant, and healthy, and most importantly, natural! It's totally a hair treatment and color in one. I would absolutely recommend. Just know what you're in for and be okay with the extra effort. Peace & love friends.

Helpful tips for great results

I have been using the Henna Brun for over 2 years. Try grating the henna with a fine grater. I grate it inside a plastic bag (cuts down the mess) and then pour the powder into a glass measuring cup sitting in a pan of boiling water. I add boiling distilled water into the powder and let it sit for a minute or two. I make the mix more "watery" and brush it on with a plastic hair-color applicator brush I got at a beauty supply company. Be careful when applying the mix because it can be very hot. I leave it on for 3 hours. It rinses out much easier than using the thicker mixture. After rinsing for several minutes, I use shampoo and conditioner. My hair looks great every time. I use an old sheet on the floor to help with any drips. It takes a few tries to get a routine established, but once you do, it is worth the effort.

Literally Zero Result

I've been using henna for years, and not only is this much, much messier, it's also incredibly grainy and difficult to put in and get out compared to a regular henna powder. That would've been fine if it'd actually dyed my hair, but it didn't. Literally no color change at all- the dye didn't take, possibly from all the oils in the bar. I love lush products overall, but don't waste your money on this.

Best natural option

I've experimented with this product for years. I mix 2 squares of brown with 1 square of red and its perfect. I don't wrap my head because the heat increases the red. My body reacts to commercial hair dye (burned scalp, puffy eyes etc.). So happy to have this option. My hair feels soft and silky.

Absolutely horrible

I was really nervous to try this product. I decided to give it a try after reading several of the good reviews. It is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE I don't know anyway to describe it. My hair is naturally a light brown kinda blonde color with natural highlights. I let it sit for the recommended time and washed it out after. I decided to blow dry my hair and see how it turned out.... just the few spots I did it's orange and brassy I bought the brown. I am so disappointed and honestly want to cry because my hair is my most prized possession. If I could id give this no stars. Do not recommend at all

I would not buy this product again.

I was very disappointed with the result. I was expecting better from LUSH, I do really like their bar shampoos and other face products. The dye did not cover my grey hair and my hair was quite bad looking after it. I think LUSH should warn the customer of the low probability of covering grey hair.
