Perfect for my curly haired girl

My bi-racial daughter uses this. She has long been co-washing to keep her hair healthy. I recently wanted to reduce our waste in the house and wanted all of us using shampoo bars and conditioner. I was honestly surprised that it works but it does. Makes her curls extra cute and doesn't build up.

Girls with wild curls and volume

Wow! I absolutely love this version! I have been a lush fan for years and they have been missing the mark for years when it comes to curly hair (like crash and burn missing the mark). Finally they hired the right people! To all the people who loved the previous version, I have to say that it was terrible for curly hair. I like lush shampoo bars, but I stay away from them because they make my thick hair dry and lifeless (but clean lol). This one is a game changer. My very thick, wild, frizzy and very curly hair has a beautiful soft and natural texture with this shampoo as compared to every single other shampoo/wash I have ever tried (so so many). The only thing I will say is that this bar does run out faster than other shampoo bars, but it is definitely worth it

Please bring back the old formula

The new formula smells the same and the annoying red wax is gone (hooray!) but this is just a shampoo bar. It's no longer a co wash :( Does not leave my hair clean AND moisturized like the old bar did. The new bar lathers up like shampoo and leaves hair clean but completely unconditioned .

Dries my hair

I love all my Lush products - except for this. It smells divine and feels good on my hands. However, it take a bit of effort to get enough of the product from the bar to actually wash my hair. I do have thick hair, but I'm not sure a bar is the best form for a cowash, which I typically use a lot of. Worst of all, my hair is dry after using this. I need to use my most intense conditioner and leave-in after this and it is okay, but still not as good as my other (less expensive) cowashes like cantu. I'm still deciding if I'll use this up or just throw it away. From now on, I'll stick to the bathbombs, scrubs, etc and leave Lush's hair products alone.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA

NOOOOO!!! I am so heartbroken that they changed this! It is NOTHING like the original formula and it does NOT do the same thing, AT ALL! I have long, fine, but thick hair. I'm early 40's and was beginning to think maybe it was age and hormone changes that made my hair just not at soft and shiny anymore, no matter how hard I tried. I stopped coloring, I rarely ever use heat on my hair. Nothing worked. I got hooked on shampoo bars and heard Lush has some of the best. I found this on my first visit and the sales woman actually sold it to me as a conditioner. But when I got home and looked it up here, I realized it was a "2-in-1" and was being advertised to suggest it was made for course and curly hair. Some of the reviews from others with fine hair made me nervous, but I started to get a feeling maybe they were not rinsing well enough? Using to much? I loved the smell of the old formula. It sounds funny, but it reminded me of the smell from whatever my great grandma used on her wood furniture. Lemony almost. The scent faded after a day or so and was soft and pleasant. I focused on my roots and then would hang my head upside down and rinse with lukewarm water, letting the co-wash rinse out thru the length of my hair until the water ran clear. I didn't use anything else. Lightly towel and then air dry. The old formula transformed my hair! Everyone close to me noticed and commented on it. My hair went back to feeling thick and nourished and looked healthy and shiny. This new formula is nice. But it is NOT the same. At all. I want the old bad enough that I've asked a friend with a natural bath product shop to try to reproduce it for me. Sure, the red stuff was weird, but who cares. The original formula was perfect!

The search is over!!

I have really sensitive skin and this is the only product that doesn't irritate my scalp! It also smells amazing and leaves my hair feeling soft and weightless. Plus the no packaging is a huge bonus!

Amazing!

Bought it for myself but and sharing it with my six year old who has a super dry scalp. After trying millions of products this turned out to be a serious lifesaver!

Best co-wash I've tried, but could be better!

star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-empty

Pittsburgh, PA | 12 days ago

I've been co-washing for a little while now, but I haven't found a product that has made such a difference in my hair until the Avocado Co-Wash! I've never tried a solid hair product before; however, once I got used to the method of applying, it was so easy to use! I have around a 3a curl pattern, and this product helped boost the definition and shine of my curls, as well as add volume near my roots, which is something that's usually lacking with other products. However, I feel like I need to keep in mind that this co-wash is just that: a co-wash. I'm used to using the same conditioner to co-wash and condition, and from what I've read in previous reviews, that seems to be what the old formula did. I still have to use my regular conditioner on my ends, but it would be great if I could have that all in one package-free bar! Other than that, I'm loving this co-wash, and it now has a place in my regular hair-care routine.

Good product

Hair type - 2c/3a, fine, some texture, tendency towards dryness, un-dyed I've used this product a few times in the two weeks since I've had it, and it's been a nice in-between shampoo product. I only shampoo my hair once a week since my hair tends towards dryness. It did a nice job of removing product buildup without stripping my hair. Surprised that it had suds to it, but easy to lather and rub in. The bar has held together so far, but I've been making sure to keep it as dry as possible. Nice light scent, that doesn't linger too long. It's left my hair feeling nice and soft. I combine it with shampoo once a week, and condition every time I use the bar. It did a nice job cleaning and softening my hair after going in the ocean and chlorinated pool. The price isn't too bad, and so far it has been worth the money.

Game changer for scalp and hair

I looooove this product. All I use with this is a leave in conditioner (no need for a normal shower conditioner) to get frizz free waves/curls.This stuff also did wonders for my scalp which used to be constantly dry and would overproduce sebum. I can finally wash my hair without worrying about the natural oils on my scalp being stripped. The coconut-derived surfactant (replacing the SLS) also creates the most amazing lather. Honestly I couldn't be happier with this product. (For reference I have low porosity Asian hair with a wavy hair pattern ranging 2a to 2c. My hair would often become a huge poofy & undefined mess even if I used a sulfate free shampoo + conditioner)
