Classic spice yet spooky sweet!

Though I know its now a year round fragrance, I just cant help but associate Lord if Misrule with fall and Halloween! Its the perfect fall scent, a bit of warm spice from patchouli and black pepper start the scent off, followed by a soothing vanilla undertone that sweetens over time. Timeless and beautiful, great for those who need a new go to scent!

Dark and Mysterious

Having enjoyed the Lord of Misrule scented bath bomb for the last couple years, I decided to buy the perfume. I really like the dark, sweet, mysterious scent. I get complements on it every time I wear it. And because I already associate the smell with a relaxing bath, it has a stress relieving quality to me as well. If you like warm and spicy smells, this is the perfume for you!

Just what I needed!

Love, Love! Just as yummy as the body wash. Spritzed on as soon as I got home and hours later it is still wonderful. I have the solid too for a little touch-up if needed. We'll just have to see how long the fragrance hangs on.

Favourite but new formula is just not the same

star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-empty

LOMR is my absolute favourite fragrance brought out by Lush EVER. I had to wait 3 years for them to reintroduce the perfume and I am over the moon about it. The only thing that I'm not happy with is that the new formula they use or whatever they have changed makes it smell quite different. The top, middle and bottom notes are differently balanced and it wears differently too. There is nothing like it out there though so I am still a loyal fangirl! I am also saddened that the fragrance is not available in the South African shops. Please make it available here. Shipping it from the UK makes the cost super exorbitant.

90's Hippie Vibes

So, this perfume gives me nostalgia. For my Canadian peeps, I think y'all understand when I reference the counter culture of Commercial Drive in Vancouver, circa 1995-ish. This is a head shop in a bottle. One spritz goes a long way. Strong patchouli in a cozy blanket of vanilla, with a kick of pepper. I also smell a hint of frankincense. I don't know how this could disappoint! I prefer to wear this on my clothes, instead of on the skin. Not just for Fall/Winter. Great job Lush!

All Good Things cousin.

I used to love All Good Things parfum a lot but it was discontinued. I went in to lush to see if I could find something similar to it. I tried a few, but when I smelled this one it made me grin from ear to ear. It smelled exactly like All Good Things! I was so excited! When I got home I pulled out my solid of All Good Things. I would definitely say that AGT has more of a smokey smell than this one, where as this one rely's more on sweetness. If you loved AGT you'll most likely love this one. Smells about 95% the same! 10/10 would recommend

Interesting

star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-empty

This perfume is one of the most interesting, complex smelling perfumes I've ever smelled. I have the solid and the spray, and I think the spray interacts better with my body chemistry. PROS: It is a complex and yummy vanilla scent. YES it is sweet, but it's a complex sweet and I love it. It's also not a gourmand perfume. When I tested this perfume while perusing Lush and Anthropologie (pre-COVID) I kept getting delicious whiffs of this perfume. The lovely lush employee told me that it smells lighter on my skin. Its scent is honestly kind of intoxicating. I love it, even if my husband thinks it smells like mold. CONS: Both have a strong pine smell on my skin so idk what's going on with that. The pine smell is my only reason for not giving this perfume 5 stars. I don't personally enjoy the pine smell (I actually hate it), so I do a few things to avoid it. I spray the perfume on the inside of my forearm closer to the elbow then warm the perfume up by immediately (and quickly) rubbing my forearms together. This perfume smells best when it's warmed up, so it's not the type of perfume that I'd personally spray my clothing or hair with. ALSO! When testing the perfume, it smelled peppery but I haven't experienced the same peppery smell since that initial wear. I am bummed by this. My husband also thinks this perfume smells like mold (asking 'are you wearing your mold perfume?' whenever he gets whiffs of it), which i think is a con for him? I'm not sure where to sort that information. I wouldn't recommend this perfume unless they take it for a test drive without purchasing it because it seems to smell extremely different depending on body chemistry, how/where you apply it, etc. It also seems to be a divisive perfume.

i'm big on using products not tested on animals and sustainably sourced, so when my last perfume by another co. ran out, i decided to try one of lush's. i really love having a stronger scented perfume (i have allergies and can't smell well at all *bummed face 4 lyfe* ), and this one was perfect. well, alllmost - if they could find a way to make a naked solid or refill (no plastic, tho), it'd be absolutely perfect. oh, and matching soaps that are also naked ;) i want the gel but won't let myself cave on the plastic part.

Don't be fooled by the wet smell or in the bottle cap sniff. Once this gets on your skin and dries it smells exactly like the shower cream and bath bomb. Musky, spicy vanilla. I love layering this one with the shower cream! Thank you so much for making this product, I will be buying this for years to come

The Lord of Misrule bath bomb is my favorite scent ever. I bought this online without smelling it in a store first, and it's definitely way more powdery smelling with less spice. I still like it and will use it but I don't think I'd buy it again. Definitely recommend checking it out IRL first.
