Taller de Vida
Indigenous and Afro-Colombian youth who live in the poorest neighborhoods of Bogota are at high risk for aggressive recruitment into local guerilla and paramilitary forces. Many of the youth have already served as combatants and suffer from psychological and physical trauma. Taller de Vida (“Workshop of Life”) creates programs around art and sports therapy and focuses particularly on the recovery and reintegration of women and girls who have been affected by violence.
How we helped
Funds from Charity Pot helped support counseling and education training for women and youth affected by armed conflict and poverty in Usme, on the outskirts of Bogota. Funds also went towards creating more English-language access for the organization in order to raise international awareness.
