Not Far From The Tree

Not Far From The Tree is an urban fruit tree project, inspiring Torontonians to harvest, share, celebrate, and steward the bounty from our urban forest. Approximately 1.5 million pounds of fruit are produced from Toronto’s canopy every year, and yet most of this goes unpicked. Not Far From The Tree is a bright and hopeful solution to this surplus of local fruit. Volunteers are mobilized to harvest the fruit and everything gets shared: a third to the homeowner; a third to the volunteers; and a third to a neighborhood agency such as a food bank, shelter or community kitchen.
