How we helped
2010
In our first partnership, LUSH contributed funds towards a public awareness campaign for Bill C-439 that would amend the Hazardous Products Act to include cat and dog fur. If passed, this would prevent cat and dog fur from being imported and sold in Canada.
2011 / 2012
LUSH supported APFA at the Living with Wildlife Conference in Toronto. This event brought together experts from across North America to discuss non-lethal strategies to cope with the increasing populations of wild animals living in urban communities.
2012
All east coast LUSH shops were turned into campaign centers for our "Fur Trim is a Trap" campaign. Employees, customers, and supporters came to sign postcards urging Dani Reiss, the CEO of Canada Goose to stop using fur trim on his products. We also transformed our Queen St. location in Toronto into a live performance for 24 hours to share the brutal cruelty of the fur industry.
2014
We've teamed up with Fur-Bearer Defenders yet again for our #MakeFurHistory campaign. We'll be shining a spotlight on animal cruelty that's inherent in the commercial fur trade, and urging the public to make a pledge to go fur free.
