Friends of the Island Fox (FIF) is a program of the non-profit Channel Islands Park Foundation. We are a grassroots effort of conservation professionals, concerned citizens and school children. FIF strives to create public awareness about the endangered island fox and the California Channel Islands through community outreach and science-based education programs provided to children. We support Channel Island habitat restoration and raise funds for research and conservation measures to ensure the island fox's survival.
How we helped
The Charity Pot funding will support vaccination of island foxes against introduced diseases, help with native plant restoration (a vital part of island fox diet), and enable us to continue our education outreach to school children across Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles counties. The engagement of future generations is necessary for the survival of this rare endemic species.
