Fondation Hubert Lemire

The FHL’s mission is to contribute to the reforestation of Haiti. Through education and in harmony with the local government orientations, the FHL concentrates its efforts in energetic alternatives via sustainable projects and alternatives to cooking with wood charcoal. Our micro-finance programs for new entrepreneurs create employment, while helping to re-green Haiti.

How we helped

Charity Pot provided funding to build recycling bins which will collect compostable waste. This waste will be used to produce “green charcoal” briquettes, resulting in fewer trees being cut down for fuel. In addition, LUSH’s donation went to training professional briquette press makers, and funding new entrepreneurs starting up businesses related to specialized stoves and briquettes.
