FLOW For Water

Everything we do is just as our name implies: For Love Of Water (FLOW). Our number one priority is to safeguard the Great Lakes, the planet’s largest freshwater system. Our work relies on science-driven policies and the ancient wisdom and laws of the commons and public trust doctrine to chart this course. By educating decision-makers and empowering the public, FLOW works to protect our Great Lakes from threats like the 63-year-old Line 5 pipelines that pump nearly 23 million gallons of oil through the Straits of Mackinac every day.

How we helped

So far, with Lush's donation, we have been able to put on two more public screenings of the film Great Lakes, Bad Lines, and had over 200 more petitions signed. We have also ordered FLOW hats and reusable grocery bags, other outreach materials to spiff up our table at public events, and we are in the process of creating a new brochure. We have a social media campaign in the works and more swag being developed as we speak. Plus we are going to continue our partnership with Patagonia and their Chicago store to show the film and provide materials to the public about Line 5. All of this has been made possible through Lush's funding.
