Association Fenix

Asofenix, founded in 2001, works to build school and community gardens in rural communities of Nicaragua to educate students and families about the importance of environmentally appropriate and sustainable practices and technologies. Asofenix promotes sustainable production patterns and the responsible use of natural resources with a unique community approach in order to reduce climate change.

How we helped

This grant will allow Asofenix to work alongside students, families and community leaders in planting 6000 trees in 10 rural communities in Leon and Boaco, Nicaragua that will improve degraded watersheds and prevent soil erosion.
