Save the Rain teaches communities at risk of drought how to harvest and filter rain water for a safe, sustainable water source. Catchment systems are built by local people using local materials, so are easily maintained and repaired. The systems are done as cost-effectively as possible: $15 pays for one person and their children to receive water for the rest of their lives. Over the last 5 years, Save the Rain has helped more than 175,000 people gain access to clean water in 26 villages in two East African countries.
