Smells great!

The smell really comes alive once it's in the water. It's my new favorite!

Okay, but a big letdown from the former floating island

I'm a huge lover of the original formulation of floating island - I live and work where it is supremely cold and dry, and loved the luxuriousness of the oils in it. I recently purchased more, and received the new formulation. Firstly, the scent is different, though the new scent profile is still very nice. Secondly, the floating island no longer floats! It sits at the bottom of your bath, slowly dissolving, releasing mild bubbles. My biggest gripe is the overall lack of moisturizing that I now get with this. I get it's a new formulation - instead of the old "oil slick" floating island, we get the new one that somehow releases much smaller oil globules that don't look like you're trying to marinade yourself - but overall it's a step backwards and a huge disappointment.

The worst.

So upsetting. Ordered this because I love lush and I love bath oils. I'm in the bath RIGHT NOW using it. Horrendous. The meltability is garbage. I got maybe 3 drops of oil floating in my tub right now. The smell is very slight and not overly fragrant, which I dislike because I love my bathroom smelling like a floral nightmare, but that part is just preference. The smell IS nice, but you'd absolutely need to buy, like, three of these in order to have anything worth melting in your tub. Does nothing for the skin. I wish I didn't buy it and actually bought something I knew would like. I'm never buying this again. So disappointing.

Previous product was better.

Still a good bath, but this is a reformulation of a product they have had for a while. The previous "floating island" floated at the top of the bath, while this one sinks and doesn't dissolve as well. It used to fell like I had taken a bath in lotion because my skin was so soft. This doesn't leave my skin as moisturized and sometimes I use a body conditioner or massage bar after because my skin is really dry. My family has a few Lush addicts and we try most of the products. This went from my favorite bath to one I like. I would recommend it to a friend to try. I won't be giving them to everyone I know this year.

Disappointed in the change of quality

This used to be my favorite lush product. The smell was warm and would gently fill up the room as if it was a candle. The richness of the oil was a game changer. I could split the previous product in two; the one half was enough to make my bath special. This new design has almost no scent, does not dissolve well, and barely moisturizes my body (using the whole floating island). I ordered a handful, and will be returning the remaining ones I have. Big disappointment.

Why change a good thing??

Floating island has been my winter go-to for the past several years. I have super dry skin, and it's been a life saver! Now that winter has returned (grrr), I went to lush today to get a few for the return of winter baths! When I saw what's now called "floating island", I was pretty surprised. It went from a pretty "handmade ish" looking oil to something that looks very manufactured- like something I would find in a drug store bath aisle. I kept the faith, trusted lush, and bought it anyways. It's a completely different thing. Almost no effect on my bath water (and definitely none on my skin). The super rich oil which was my life saver is nonexistent. Super sad about this- and nervous that some of the others will change to a similar "super manufactured, mediocre product". Please change it back.

Loved the smell! Also loved how it left some parts of me silky smooth! What I did not love was the pure greasiness on other parts of me like my hands. I washed my hands atleast a dozen times before the greasy feeling went away! Tossed up on weither to buy again or not!

I have a love of vanilla which is why i went for this product. I have super dry legs in winter, so it's my go to whenever I had to shave to reduce flaky skin! Love it, just don't get it in your hair...
