This soap is so very effective for removing deodorant "stickiness". You know the "Clinical" brands of deo that are so very hard to remove when showering? Smooth this soap over wet underarms and few times, then work in the soap-y sand with your hands and - gone! Not only do you get ultrasmooth skin but you're ready for a fresh application of lotion or deo!

I was looking for a soap that really exfoliated, sandstone is a perfect fit! It smells lemony fresh and the sand scrubs really well. It might be too rough for some if u have sensitive skin. The only thing that I didn't like we're the random stones in it, some were as big as small pea gravel and hurt... So I had to pick them out of the bar.

Don't judge a book by its cover! This soap may look unpleasant, but it's amazing. Personally, I love citrusy scents. This soap has a beachy lemony scent that's sexy and nothing like dishsoap. The sand is a bit messy in the shower, but that's cured by washing it down the drain. If you find the soap too rough use a loofah, or rub it on your hands then on your body. The scent doesn't last that long, but your skin is left feeling baby soft. This is amazing for shaving your legs. I would definitely buy this again!!! It's great for summer or on vacation, whenever you plan to show a bit of skin.

I bought two bars - one for my hands and one for the shower; As a printmaker I get ink EVERYWHERE and it's an oilly mess to get off, but this soap gets it off no prob and is great for those who are allergeic to shea nuts!

love the smell of citrus + a good scrub? THIS IS FOR YOU!!!

I was initially looking for a body scrub and a LUSH worker suggested this soap instead (since he said it lasted much longer and knew how much I loved the smell of lemon)

I love absolutely everything about this bar! Be warned: it does exfoliate a heck of a lot, so if you have sensitive skin, this product might not be for you. Also, it does leave a bit of sand in the shower/tub, but the result is totally worth the (10 second) clean-up.

I simply love this soap for my feet! I live in Hawaii and my bare feet get more use than my slippers and what you might call sandals. I just love pampering my tootsies at night before bed with this lovely sandy and scrub worthy soap. Wouldn't want to live with out it!

If this soap could talk it would say, "I'M NOT GOOD WITH FIRST IMPRESSIONS BUT GET USED TO ME AND I'M YOUR BEST FRIEND!!!"

At first when you use this you will probably be like "WHOA!! What is this? What did I just buy?" Well, that's what I thought when I first used it. I was kind of like "I just wasted my money." PROMISE ME YOU WILL NOT JUDGE THIS SOAP IF YOU ARE LIKE "WHOA!!!" THE FIRST TIME. WIth this soap you have to try it more than once even if you don't like it at first. I didn't like it at first but now I'm addicted to it.

I suggest for first time users of Sandstone use it on your legs first. If your like "OH MY GOD GET IT OFF" you should maybe just use it as a handsoap and maybe eventually use it in the shower again. If your like "This is weird" then keep using it on your legs and if you want try it on your body. If your like "This is great" be adventurous and try it on your body. This got me used to Sandstone. Now I use Sandstone daily.

Long story short Sandstone is tough on the outside but sweet on the inside.

Ok. So....... this soap is absolutely amazing!! I love how rough it is yet how tender and sweet it smells. At first when I tried it I was like, "Oh My God!!! What did I just buy?!" I thought I had just wasted my money. But! (No this is not a negative comment) After I got used to it I was like "this is really calming and it really does all the jobs needed in the shower." It exfoliates, gets off all the dirt, leaves you squeaky clean, AND it smells awesome!!!

For all you new users DON'T JUDGE THIS PRODUCT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THE FIRST TIME. I didn't like it the first time but now I'm addicted to it!!! I suggest the first time don't use it on your body right away. Use it on your legs first and then if you are sort of like "This is weird" keep on using it just on your legs and sometime in the future try it on your body. If your like "I LOVE IT!!!!!!" then be adventurous and try it on your body. If your like "OH MY GOD GET IT OFF!!!!" Maybe just use it as hand soap for a while and try it on your body or legs some other time.

All in all Sandstone does the trick!

One of the few Lush products I don't think I'll be buying again. Started out okay and smelled good. I am a sucker for citrus-y scents but the sand was a little much for me. It also caused me to be rather itchy after using it no matter how much I rinsed off.

I have been a hardcore lushie for a year and have been trying to get my fiancee into it. This soap was the item that made him squeal. He's been a hard-core Irish Springs guy all his life. But this soap did it for him.



I love to steal it too for my legs to exfoliate. It's like getting a good scratch in the shower.



A bar only lasts about a month between us, but that's not really a big deal. And he smells so good afterwards! Yes! This is an item that must always be in the house.

Wow! Congratulations Lush for making such an amazing soap! I was given a sample piece of Sand Stone soap, it was just a small block, and it has lasted! I love it's jumpy, yet calming smell. It exfoliates well, and leaves my skin soft and clean. I loved it so much, I went and bought another block before I was done with the sample, I didn't want it to run out! I use it all over my body, and on my face when I need a good exfoliating. I use it everyday. Sand Stone soap is by far my favorite product from Lush!

I love beachy scents, so it was a given that I was attracted to a soap that had actual sand in it! Sandstone smells like sunscreen applied at the beach on a hot summer day, mixed with a light citrus aroma. It's not overwhelming, but if you tend not to like citrus scents this may not be for you.



When I first used this, I (foolishly) started by scrubbing my body quite roughly... ouch! I then tried to use it as an exfoliator post-shave, and got the worst case of razor burn I think I've ever had. Discouraged, I stored this away for a few months until yesterday, when I got brave and decided to give it another go. This experience was fantastic! I wouldn't have recommended Sandstone before, but I will now!



There are two sides to this bar - soap, and sand, though there are grains of sand throughout the soap side.



To Wash:

Stand out of the shower spray and rub the soapier side of the bar onto your skin until you've got enough on to work with. Use a loofah if you like, but I find this exfoliates best when you rub it directly onto your skin. There's just enough sand in the soap half to exfoliate gently without being too abrasive. Don't rub too hard, or you'll risk irritating or scratching your skin. I gently used the soapy side of this bar to exfoliate before shaving, rinsed, and then rubbed the soapy side of Sea Vegetable all over my legs to use as shaving gel. Worked like a charm!



To Heavily Exfoliate:

Use the dense sand side as you would a pumice stone on the rough parts of your feet, or other areas that need serious exfoliating. Go easy at first, then rough it up a bit if you have to. ;)



My skin felt really clean and refreshed after using Sandstone successfully, and the scent was really gentle on my skin after I had dried off. I could see this being a really good facial exfoliator/acne prevention treatment, because of the sand and the astringent citrus, but I would be careful about how hard/often you use it, or you may end up irritating your poor face!



This is a summer must-have for me now!

I wasn't expecting to like this soap at, in fact I didn't even bother to look at it in my local lush store... washing with sand just didn't sound appealing to me. However, my mom picked it up and I tried it since it was the only soap around when I was washing my hands, and I was impressed. The sand is just enough to exfoliate and the smell is great. I wouldn't say it's my favourite lush soap but definitely not one to overlook!

Great for use on those dry areas of skin like knees and elbows. The scent is intoxicating and has made me somewhat of a morning person (which I never was) it's like a little bar of sunshine. Thanks for an amazing product!

I use this soap everyday in the shower! The sand never crumbles off the bar and it smells amazing. This was one of my first Lush Soaps, and i love it! the only thing thats a little iffy for me is that although the exfoliant sand pieces are nice, they seem a little harsh for everyday. I have perfectly normal skin so i know its not me, but i found that after a while, the gritty feeling on my skin felt a little annoying, especially first thing in the morning!But not to worry! i simply used more of the soapy side then the sand side and that balanced it out. But just a warning, if you have sensitive skin, this may start to make you cringe after a while. All in all, a great buy!

This soap is incredible. I have ridiculously thick skin and an exfoliating liquid soap is not enough because the exfoliant just washes off. This soap however is so tough and is actually able to tackle my skin and soften it.

I was very impressed with this. I liked the idea of the sand in it and it smelled amazing so I picked up a sample, I didn't expect that after just a sample I would be totally in love with it

I love the fruity sent. i think i goes well with whoosh the jelly soap. after i used it i would leave me feeling sticky so i would use a liquid soap over top of it. But it does exfoliate really well. = I LOVE IT!!!!!! <3

I received this soap as a sample after buying sea veg. I've been wanting to try it for a while and it really is wonderful! It smells quite lemony - though not at all like pinesol or any type of lemon scented cleaner. Its a light, fresh citrus scent. I only used it on my back as I wanted to use my sea veg too. It left my back squeaky clean and smooth! The sand is fine and gritty, giving it a nice exfoliating feeling without being overly rough. It wasn't particularly moisturizing like some of Lush's other soaps, but it wasn't drying either. It definitely left a nice, clean feel and the scent is amazingggg - however the citrus scent doesn't linger too long out of the shower. You'll smell - and feel - just plain ol' fresh and clean!

Sandstone is another of those wonderful samples I got from the folks at Sunridge LUSH, and a reminded to LUSH that samples are more often than not a selling point on things one would never have considered buying previously.



I've found that Sandstone is a great exfoliator, and really gets your skin ready for intensive moisturizing. I give my skin a really good scrub with it (mind that it doesn't lather a whole lot)and then follow it up with a Rub, Rub, Rub and Heavenly Bodies cocktail. You leave the shower smelling like flowery-chocolate, and need minimal moisturizing afterward.



The only thing that isn't fabulous about it is that it literally has no scent. But if you mix it with other wonderful smelling gels and soaps, it's perfect. Another great one LUSH, now if only I didn't get a huge chunk of a different soap everytime I visited, I could buy this one :P
