Having fine limp hair, it's tricky to find a shampoo that will let you get by without having to wash it everyday. It's unhealthy to over wash hair. Reincarnate allows you to wash every other day without roots getting too oily or losing too much volume. Also, another product perk is that on the day that you do wash, you notice your hair looks more colourful and more brilliant. I have medium-to-dark brown hair and I love the colour and shine provided by this shampoo. Oh, and my scalp gets pretty flaky at times; I find that its flakiness isn't so bad when using this shampoo, so another bonus there.
The smell isn't amazing, but nor is it unpleasant. It's "interesting". It reminds me of spicy liquorice, if you can imagine that. You need to rub quite a bit of the product into your hair to get a sufficient amount of lather and to give you that clean feeling. The bar ends up looking kind of funky after a few uses, but in the grand scheme of things this minor turn-off isn't enough to keep me from using it.
So overall, despite its sketchy appearance and underwhelming scent, this shampoo does great work in the volume, scalp care and shine departments!

First off, I love the smell, and it really does work well with Jungle solid conditioner...but the first time I washed with it, I washed my hair twice because it was in rough shape and despite rinsing quite thoroughly, I couldn't get it all out. My hair was sticky and powdery-feeling all day. But I've been finding that lately with LUSH products since I've moved home to NB - Godiva, New, and Jungle don't rinse out either. My solution? Apple cider vinegar rinse. 2 cups of water and two spoonfuls of ACV in a container, shake it up and rinse hair with it at the end. It stinks for a minute but will fade, or you can rinse it out too. My hair felt squeaky clean after using Reincarnate the first time, but it wasn't - after rinsing with ACV, it felt oily and slick, which worried me, until I dried my hair: it was clean, soft, and shiny. I did it again the next time and my hair still feels clean and smells great after a second day, PLUS I think my psoriasis is improving. So if you have residue problems with this or any other LUSH shampoo bar, just rinse with apple cider vinegar!

I have been using Lush shampoo bars for about two years now and decided to give Reincarnate a try after using Soak & Float for a while. It lost its solidity very quickly and is now a big goopy mess sitting in my shower. It doesn't lather well, either, and I find that most disappointing because I always concentrate on washing my scalp, not the length of my hair. The smell is nice but doesn't last long in my hair. I think I'll go back to Soak & Float, now.

I have been using this product for 3 months. The bar is hardly used and my hair is beautiful. Full of shine and healthy. I do not use dyes in my hair and this product enhances the perfect shades of brown.

Reincarnate was the first solid shampoo I have ever tried and I followed with Jungle conditioner. This is a great combination.
There isn't a shampoo tin large enough for Reincarnate so I put it in a plastic soap dish with a lid. I made sure no water was in the container after each use.
I'm a bit perplexed as to the best way to preserve the solid shampoos. If I leave the container in the shower, even making sure it's dry. The shampoo tends to become mushy over time, however I get the best lather this way. If I take it out of the shower and let it completely dry between uses, then I have a harder time getting a good lather. I prefer a good lather as I notice it does clean my hair better when this happens, but then I feel as if the soap disappears too quickly. This isn't specific to reincarnate, as it's happening with Trichomania as well. (I ordered a bunch of shampoos to try as I loved Riencarnate so much. Figured I'd try out a few before I settled on a favourite). So far I have yet to try a product from Lush that I do not like.

This shampoo literally saved my hair and scalp. My previous shampoo left my hair flat and my scalp flaky and constantly itchy. I tried Soak and Float which is lovely but just didn't do the trick. This bar leaves my head perfectly balanced, clean, full of natural oils, and shiny.

Highly reccomended to anybody looking for something different (especialy dark brunettes)

Great product! It makes my hair... uncomplicated. I use it every day and it leaves my thin hair moisturized without being heavy, my scalp and hair are in perfect balance and it also gives great shine and a little tinge of red to my highlights!



I've tried many lush shampoos and this is the perfect one for me! I wish they still continued it in stores. I recently ordered a bunch of it, so now I'm stocked, but what a hassle.



Oh, side note - this is the only product I have to keep out of reach of my dog - he seems to think it's the most delicious thing and will eat it if left out.

I don't know whether it was just the batch that I got, but I don't think it smelled like a spice market. I think it smells like beeswax and henna. I still really like the scent of it, but it wasn't what I was expecting.

Other than the unexpected smell, I really like it! It makes my hair so nice and shiny.

I LOVE this product. I will be honest... I was skeptical of a solid shampoo. I regret that I didn't try this sooner. I just love it. My only complaint is it doesn't fit in the solid shampoo container (which I knew so I didn't buy one). I wish it did or that there was a BIGGER container option.

Okay so after trying every single lush shampoo possible, I ordered this shampoo after I decided to colour my long waist length hair to a chocolate brown color. After receiving it in the mail the scent was kind of strong, however after I cut my bar into smaller pieces and used one, the smell became extremely subtle and didn't even stay in my hair at all afterward. This shampoo made my hair soft, LESS oily, and added a beautiful subtle tint of red to my brown hair which completed my color. I am also pretty sure it contributes to how long my box dye is lasting (over the 4-6 week mark) which saves me from using too many chemicals...YAY! Overall, an amazing addition to the lush collection of shampoos! Lush, how could you keep your solid shampoo "the blonde" on the shelf and turn the greatest thing for brunettes into RETRO???? that is unacceptable LUSH. Please....please...do not discontinue this. I will continue to buy this.

This was my first trek into the shampoo bar universe, and I loved it!

The bar lathers well, it washes without residue and leaves clean, shiny hair that doesn't feel like it's been dried out. It brings out the copper colours in my hair! Definitely a must-have!!!

When I first received this sample in the mail with my order, I didn't think I'd like it. It smelled funny, looked weird, and...well it was solid shampoo!



I decided to try it anyways, and...oh my goodness, it was incredible!!! My hair feels nice, soft, smells good and it shines. I've been using salon shampoos (Biolage) for a while now, and it doesn't even compare!



Don't let your first impression fool you!

When I got my piece of Reincarnate, it was broken in half which I'm almost glad was the case because I think using the whole big chunk would be sort of awkward. Just wet it and soak your hair, rub it around a few times and lather up! It doesn't seem to lather as much as conventional liquid shampoos but that may also be because I have VERY thick hair.



It smells like delicious hippies and kind of like fennel/licorice. I really love the smell.



It makes my hair feel really soft and look shiny (without being oily or greasy), and the smell of it stays in there, which I am very happy about.



Overall I really love this product (it was my first ever Lush purchase!) and I will continue buying it!

I just love this shampoo. It smells great and it really does add shine to my hair. It was the first product I tried from Lush and its still my favorite. I don't even mind that it doesn't lather up as well as some of the other solid shampoos I've tried, it makes it last much longer. I was awfully disappointed when it wasn't around for a while and I'm so glad its back. I'm considering stocking up in case it goes away again. Would recommend this to anyone. Just a great, thorough clean with a wonderful incense smell.

Received as sample (thank you!) and used it promptly. I like what it did to my hair, other than slightly drying it out, but I don't think I could get used to the extremely pungent and unpleasant scent it leaves in your hair until you clean it again with something else. My conditioner and leave-in conditioner were no match for the really strong scent. I found the bar easy to use and I rather liked how you just run it over your wet hair - had no problems with usage at all. My hair is light brown to blonde and I noticed no colour difference (bear in mind only used it once).

I've used this product for 3-4 years now. The lure of natural highlights prompted me to first try it. I never found the scent delightful, but neither is it distasteful. It smells like spicy orange peels, but as others have claimed, it does not linger at all.

My hair is on the oily side. It predictably gets mucky at the 24 hr mark, consequently requiring wash every day. Reincarnate does not strip my hair, but is (surprisingly) a fabulous cleanser, leaving my hair soft, shiny, and sleek.

Out of the many bars I've used, most produce an adequate lather with a few swipes of it on my wet hair. Occasionally, a bar comes along that doesn't lather. But it still does a fine job otherwise.

And as for the highlights? I have black hair. I definitely have natural looking reddish-coppery-chestnut-ish streaks when I'm in the light. Don't expect bottle-looking highlights, especially after using it for only a few days...

This is a product that requires a full bar, and at least a month of experimentation, for its full benefit. Don't be afraid! It's worth it :)

I ordered this because my hair and scalp had started getting really dry and unhappy with pharmacy shampoos. One use evened out the dull colour and made it far softer. My flaky scalp problems saw immediate improvement as well. The smell is earthy, which doesn't bother me, and gets covered up by my conditioner. I use this daily to get rid of sweat and sawdust and it works perfectly.

I'm still new with this product and haven't really been stunned by the henna affect or the drastic difference in my hair quality yet (I've been using other Lush shampoos for years), but it's all about the scent for me. I just keep smelling the bar and I wash my arms with it too so I can sniff the scent for hours after my shower! Of course it does an excellent job cleaning, and I notice that it's very slow to disappear. I love that!

I love this product. I have long straight hair that tends to easily get oily at the roots and a little dry at the ends. I have red henna'd hair and this product made my color more vibrant. This product made my hair smooth all the way to the ends and while it was a ittle bit heavy it did clean my roots very well. I hope Lush never gets rid of this product.

I actually LOVE this smell. I love when I get in the shower and as the water heats up the fragrance from Reincarnate starts to circulate. Lovely!

Beyond that I think it works wonderfully. I have no problem with residue so long as it's rinsed properly, which isn't hard to do. I literally rub it on top of my hair three times then start working it into my scalp and hair as usual. Rinses clean away and makes my hair feel even more squeaky clean than shampoos from other stores.

Additionally, the first time i used it was after I coloured my hair. Normally, the first and second washes after colouring my hair feels like straw after shampooing and before I douse it in conditioner. Not with Reincarnate! I washed my hair twice to clean out all the colour and my hair felt lovely, even without any conditioner!

I plan on sticking to this one, especially since I believe it will last as long as they say it will!
