I have a platinum blonde pixie cut, and fine hair. Decided to try Marilyn because I love being blonde, and I love Lush products, so this seemed perfect.

The goo itself doesn't smell the greatest- it smells like the ingredients- but once it's washed out, I found it left a light smell in my hair that was really nice and not too heavy and not at all unpleasant.

After drying my hair, it was soft, shiny, and a little bit lighter. It wasn't dramatically lighter, but then again, I started with VERY light, bleach blonde hair.

One thing I noticed that I LOVED was that not only was my hair a little lighter, but it was a softer, more natural shade of blonde. It definitely looked better, less "bottle-blonde" and more.. Marilyn-blonde.

Would definitely recommend giving it a try.

I like this product, but I don't love it. With me, a lot of things that make or break me with my Lush products are the performance, but also, the smell. I really did not enjoy this smell. I find that it does smell like the ingredients, but not in a good way, for me personally. I find the product nice and moisturizing, but after using the whole tub, I didn't notice much else. I think I would still recommend it to people for it's moisturizing benefits, but people get on with products differently, so judge for yourself! c;

I have now purchased this produce twice since being introduced to Lush in September. I love what this does to my hair, i dyed my hair myself blonde at it was not exactly the tone i wanted (very brassy, orangey) after even 1 application i noticed it lightened my hair and brightened it, making it shiny and soft and manageable. I hate having straight hair but having hair as good condition as this each week, makes it bearable. I have long hair at least 4 inches past my shoulders and i was able to make this product last 8 weeks. I do use it sparingly and try to just get it on my blondest highlight and just really massage it in to get the rest of my hair, but id say i use a good handful each time. To make it last that long makes it a great value.

Hey, I just picked up this stuff and I love what it did for my hair. My hair is naturally light but also has been coloured with highlights. My hair is fairly long and thick and I had to use a lot of this stuff to cover it. I left it on for 20-30 minutes, washed and rinsed and then blow-dried my hair a bit. The overall colour looked nicer. It is hard to explain exactly but the brassiness was cut from the first use and the overall condition and texture of my hair has never looked or felt better. After using this product my hair styles better and just looks fantastic. I plan to keep using this in an effort to maintain soft, gorgeous hair and to add brightness.

I use the Marylin as often as possible. Right now I have 3 in my fridge! I love it. My hair is super soft and its the perfect addition when getting ready for a night on the town. I suggest putting it on your hair, wrapping it in a towel and sleeping with it, the next morning wash your hair blow dry and you'll be amazed at the shine, softness, and slight body you hair has now!

One of my first LUSH purchases, I saw the name and I was sold! Not only is this product named after one of my favorite icons, it works really well! Perfect for blonde but I've used it with brown hair and redish hair and it worked well with both. It made my hair soft, bright and shiny. My only complaint would be the smell, not one of the best smelling products I've used but super effective. Definitely worth a try.

I used this product just as the bottle told me to. I left it on for about 30 minutes and than hopped into the shower to rinse out.

I have about shoulder length hair and I just put on enough to cover my entire head (which was less than 1/4) so i think it is worth the money.

I rinsed it out, and I couldn't believe how soft and smooth my hair felt and I hadn't even conditioned it yet.

I used Karma Komba solid shampoo after with Veganese shampoo; I got out of the shower and dried my hair with a blow dryer and straightened it afterwords. I immediately noticed that it was lighter, but i decided to put it to the ultimate test...

I went outside to talk to my dad and instantly he said "DID YOU CHANGE YOUR HAIR?" and my mom came over and said "I didn't know you got more highlights"

Proof, when my father notices my hair; that means it WORKS. end of story. :)

I use mine as a regular old conditioner, it goes MUCH further in wet hair, and it still works great to soften my hair. I love the smell of it, and it's lightweight and non-greasy. I do have some worked through my dry hair right now as recommended, so we'll see how this goes. I must say, it looks NOTHING like how it's pictured on the site, mine is runny and light in color, not thick and yellow as shown.

I got a small size of this in the Volume and Shine Head Case set. I have brown hair with a lot of blonde highlights, and my hair is somewhat damaged from coloring and heat styling. I got a few uses out of it, but I don't think I'd be really thrilled if I had bought the full size product for the full price. Maybe the all natural ingredients would help your hair over a long period of time, but I personally feel that cheaper drug store deep conditioning products make my hair just as soft, or even softer.

I love this stuff! I wanted to try it even though I am not considered a blonde,(I have light brown almost dirty blonde hair) This really helped lighten up the natural blonde highlights I get during the summer! 1 hour of using this product made it seem like I spent the whole summer outside! Love this stuff!!!!!!!!!!!

I use this product once every two weeks. I love it because of many things. I am a natural dark blond and this products brightness up my hair so much (but does not lighten it)! After I use it, my hair feel so soft and smells so good! The scent may not be for everyone but I personally love it! I was very surprised that I could still smell it after shampooing and conditioning! This is a must have for blonds!

I tried this treatment as a leave in for in hour long sessions about three nights in a row to see if it would make a difference. While I didn't notice a difference in my hair color, it did help in moisturizing.

My hair was very dull during the winter months and I wanted to add some spark again but I was a bit disappointed when I didn't see results in my hair color. I even tried coupling it with the Daddyo Shampoo. i haven't tried this treatment as an overnight yet but I would certainly like to give it a shot to see if it can help my poor, winter beaten tresses.

so this is probably my favourite product ever !! i read so many reviews on this and just had to try it since i do have blonde hair ! but its almost summer now and my natural hair colour is a dirty blonde and i wanted it lighter without dying it. i havent dyed my hair in probably two years because ive been trying to grow it out and leave it healthy. this product just made me have to write a review on it, my experience is just that great with it !! not only is my hair noticeably lighter at a very natural shade my hair is healthier than ever ! so shiny and soooo soft. the way i use it makes it last so much longer depending on how much you use it a month than what the store owners recommend:P i normally try to use it the night before i straighten my hair which is only like once a week. all i do is use just enough to cover my hair which is normally just like less than a quarter of the container and my hairs pretty long(a little above my elbow) so i find with this product a little goes a long way atleast for me:P try to comb it through or scrub it in a little too! i put it in a couple hours before im about to sleep then i sleep with it in and wash it out in the morning! after the third use you will definitely see blonder healthier shinier dream hair results guarenteed :)

I love Marylin! I bought this product as a deep conditioning treatment, and the added value of lightening blonde hair didn't hurt! I have shoulder length hair, and I don't use nearly as much as the instructions say. I usually get 6-7 treatments out of the pot?



I put it on my dry hair and then let it sit for several hours, or even overnight! It's best to let the sun help it soak in (like a natural Sun-In!) but I cheat with the hair dryer just before I wash it out if the weather doesn't cooperate. Marylin makes my hair so soft and shiny, and lasts for days! It also helps moisturize dry hair or split ends. Recommend to anyone!

I bought this product as I had gone blonde and it was not nearly light enough for me! I went to lush and they said this would help my hair and lighten it.

I can't say I really noticed that it was lighter but I always got a bunch of compliments from my regular customers at work telling me how much nicer the light blonde was! They were all convinced I had got my hair re dyed!

My hair is pretty damaged, so I can't say it really helped to restore my hair but it did make it much softer.

I love this stuff, it really improves my hair! My hair feels the way it did when I was younger... I have baby soft hair that is so silky it won't keep in an elastic(ponytail)!!

My hair looks bouncy but best of all it lightened my light brown hair!!!!

The way I use it: Put some in hair(I put less in my hair maybe 1/6th of the tub on long hair, but I wet my hair first, I go outside for a half hour... swim etc!)then I rinse it out! Perfect for lightening hair while softening rather than drying it!

Another way to use is use way more on dry hair for a few hours and rinse out.. this requires more product and is for if I need REALLY healthy hair! :)

It actually works very well! I have blonde hair and I wanted it lighter and the color actually changed it got lighter but I use a shampoo with it to get rid of the copper tones in my hair, because that is what it did to my hair but with the shampoo its wonderful!

I kept this on my hair for 25 minutes as recommended on the pot. I saw no colour change but after reading other reviews I think I will leave it on much longer next time to see if the outcome changes.



I did however immediately notice that my hair was much softer and lighter. My boyfriend also noticed, he couldn't stop touching it. I didn't really notice a smell, good, bad or otherwise. I am definitely going to buy this again.

okay okay...so i normally don't rave on here but just did my first Marilyn treatment and holy crud!!! I have baby fine hair that is 50% grey. after leaving it on for 1hr and then washing with the Blonde I am amazed.

very shiny, soft and even the greys behaved when styling.
