I wasn't sure about using a shampoo bar... As much as I love all LUSH products, I have bleach blonde hair that is damaged, and I usually use expensive brand shampoos. I was more than happy when I started using the shampoo bar, giving a new glow to my blonde hair! It's not harsh at all, it's actually helping my hair to stay healthy (I noticed a change within a week!)

However, I still have to apply conditioner afterwards since the little chunks of conditioner in Godiva are not enough.

Oh, and I absolutely love the smell!

I'm a daily shower/hair wash person but on the odd lazy weekend when I don't bother, my hair remains clean and fresh looking. There's even a slight lingering scent.
On the plus side: I love the scent, my hair is clean & shiny & smells gorgeous all day. I can't remember when I bought it, so it must last well (grin).
On the negative side: The cleansing properties might be a little too enthusiastic. Not really "harsh"; more a case of clean to that "squeak-point" with one application (no rinse and repeat with this one) and my hair feels a little rough. I haven't tried not conditioning my hair after, because it doesn't have that smooth "wet silk" feeling my hair has when I condition, which leads me to think the conditioners aren't quite up to the moisture needs of my hair (dry). Still, a follow-up with the Jasmine Henna Fluff Ease treatment used as a daily conditioner seems to do the trick wonderfully and the scents are absolutely compatible.
Another negative is despite letting it dry then keeping it in the tin, the bar has disintegrated into liquefied mush with the odd lump of solid conditioner... usable but disappointing. I second the reviewer who called for a liquid version. PLEASE!
I would like to make one comment to the poor soul who found her scalp itching severely, dry and flaking after five days. Sounds to me like you had a sensitivity reaction to one of the ingredients. That doesn't mean the ingredients are unusually harsh... YOU are allergic to one or more of them! We should all remember, whenever considering to purchase new cosmetics and toiletry products, DO A PATCH TEST! The wonderful thing about LUSH is that you can always ask for a test sample of anything you would like to try out, without having to buy the whole product. I LOVE THAT!!

I love love love this shampoo - the smell, the quick lather, what it does for my hair.... but I really wish it would come in a liquid version. I find that because of the chunks, once it gets to half it's original size it just breaks into pieces and becomes almost unusable. Which makes me very sad :(. Please please make a bottled version!

Always wanted to try a shampoo bar and after going into a Lush store and telling them about my dry thick hair he recommended this. I use it by rubbing all over my head and then lathering. I find that it makes your hair very tangly in the shower, which would be my only concern. Because of my thick hair I still use a conditioner, however. Once my hair is dry, I ABSOLUTELY love the way it makes my hair feel! It feels so soft and so healthy! The scent isn't overwhelming, it's just nice and light. Another little thing to consider before purchasing this product is where you would keep it. I find that if you keep it sitting on a shelf near where the water from the shower spout comes, it tends to go a little mushy on top. I like to let it dry out and return it to the tin. I like the conditioning properties this bar offers compared to many others. I would have given it 5 stars if it was a little more delicate on the hair in the shower, other than that this is a great product!

Wonderful shampoo bar!

The scent lasts after shampooing and in the summer, I don't even have to use conditioner!

Using this shampoo, I only have to wash my hair every 3 days instead of daily! My hair condition has changed completely since using this shampoo; no more greasy roots, much more body and volume and the scent is amazing!

Excellent product, goes great with Jungle or Big conditioner!

I was reluctant to try this product at first, I've never used a solid shampoo/conditioner before and I've never been able to use shampoo/conditioner in one. It usually leaves my hair very dry and tangled. After reading a bunch of reviews I decided to try it anyways.

I have very long thick curly hair that is on the dry side. I was shocked at how well the shampoo bar lathered, I swiped it down the length of my hair maybe 4 times and that was plenty. After one use of this product I could see and feel a difference in my hair. My hair had volume without being frizzy or fluffy and felt moisturized. My hair was easy to brush, No Tangles!! It also gave me a bit more definition with my curls. Overall I love this product and will buy it again as well as try other solid shampoos/conditioners.

The staff in the Polo Park location in Winnipeg said that this shampoo bar smells differently depending on a woman's time of the month.

My friend said it had an overwhelming smell in the store whereas I thought it smelled sweet and light.

I used it through my time and likely won't use it much in between but I LOVED it during those few days,

I even lathered my whole body up in the stuff which was lovely .

I shampoo my hair every three days, and this is perfect - I was using seanik before and I wanted something gentler. Godiva is moisturizing without being at all greasy, and it'll get your hair clean without drying it.

and the smell: AMAZING. I normally dislike floral smells, but this is great - and it does linger in your hair. To keep my hair healthy I don't shampoo every day, but I'm really tempted to with Godiva because I love the smell so much.

Note that all the solid shampoos are inconvenient storage-wise, since you have to try to keep them dry. My friend kept hers in a lush shampoo tin, but it eventually got stuck inside the tin and she had to chip out some pieces every time she wanted to shower. I'm keeping mine in a covered soap dish next to my shower, which has been working fine. I really love using solid shampoos, so the inconvenience doesn't bother me.

All in all, lovely lingering smell, moisturizing without being greasy, slightly inconvenient storage fun to use.

I've been using this product for the last two years and finally made it back here to write a review!
This is the one lush product that I can't live with out.
My hair is incredibly long and thick and tends to get quite frizzy, this shampoo bar works to make my hair all around more manageable and leaves it smelling great.
I've never found a product that works so well with my hair. It also has great bang for it's buck, one bar can usually last me three months! And I no longer need to buy conditioner except for in the really dry winter months.

I love this product. It was the first solid shampoo I tried from lush. I bought it because of the great smell, and I kept using it because it fixed my hair!

I have severly overprocessed hair, I strip it every few months from black to red to blonde and repeat. It's a real disaster. Using this shampoo and the american cream conditioner my hair has come back to life.

Since first using lush and this shampoo I have branched out and tried other products (like the trichomania) but nothing works as well as godiva and american cream.

This is my first shampoo bar, and it is absolutely wonderful. It can be a little bit difficult to get into the routine of storing your shampoo outside the shower, but it doesn't take too much effort, and the results are well worth it.

I get my hair wet and then lather it directly on to my scalp. Afterwards i comb it through the ends of my hair too, because it is so moisturizing. This shampoo bar produces a very rich, luxurious lather and you will be able to feel how moisturizing the product is when you are still in the shower.

I probably wouldn't reccomend this to someone with really greasy hair because it is so moisturizing, but this product will suit all other hair types. I love this!

I'm new to solid conditioner, so I was hoping this would help tame my locks.

I have really thin, brittle, heat-damaged, dry, pin-straight hair. My hair also tends to get very "crinkly" when it air-dries and the ends feel like twine. It's been like that for more than a year now and it just seems to spread every time I cut off the damaged parts.

Godiva fixed that. I still see a bit of damage, but my hair is MUCH softer and smoother. It's like miracle shampoo.

My hair type: wavy, dry strands, normal to oily scalp (will explain this later), very fine, and falling after my baby's birth.
I got a sample of this. I normally don't use 2in1 shampoos, as the conditioners never condition my hair. With Godiva, I have to swipe it at least 5x to get more conditioner and less shampoo. That is, if i swipe 1-2 times, it dries my hair, but if i swipe more, it softens my hair. Even removes any hair oil I've put on my hair. Has a strong scent that scents up the bathroom, but doesnt linger too much in the hair.
Lush claims to silky and gloss up your hair in most shampoo bar descriptions, but I think that would only happen if you already have silky hair. But if you have dry textured hair like mine, at most these bars will soften the hair, not make it shine.
I normally have an oily scalp so have to wash my hair every 2 days. But now, I've moved to a very hot and humid climate, so have to wash my hair every day because of the sweat. So I dont know what kind of scalp this would suit.

Whew! You've got to REALLY love the scent. I found it really overpowering, especially when my entire bathroom smelled of it.

it smells very good and it is a good shampoos. the problem is that the conditioner cubs are too oily for my hair. but i would recomend it to people who have dry hair.

I started using this product a couple of days ago, and so far it has been working great! I use it every time I have a shower (every 1-2 days). I have curly hair that needs A LOT of moisture, and I don't even have to use conditioner with this product! It is very moisturizing, and the smell is great! The only thing that I don't like about this product is that after I use it I have to dry it off, but it feels slimy, and I'm worried it will get ruined.

Only two things I can say about this product: great smell, but it does dry out my hair everytime I use it - which means I have to use an extra conditioner that eliminates the smell of the shampoo (I don't notice anything about the 2 in 1 effect although my bar has quite a lot of conditioner-bits in it). I will use it up, but won't buy it again - at those moments I regret a Shampoo Bar lasts that long :)

I love the effect of the product but it smells so bad! I even can't stand that smell in the bathroom. It's remind me the smell of mothball! I had guest and even my sister the jasmine lover wasn't able to stand it. Deceiving since the product do a great job, add shine, feel good and lather amazingly. I'm still testing it though, want to make sure that the flakes I found in my hair lately come from it...
