I ordered this recently to try it out to compare to Retread conditioner (also for curly/dry/frizzy hair). I found that it didn't make my curls healthy, shiny, or lucious. I had to use alooot to even detangle my hair and cover all of it. It would be okay for fine or not dry/curly hair I guess but if you do have curly or frizzy hair Retread works soo much better and makes my curls look amazing.

I've been looking for a conditioner that leaves my curls better defined and healthier. I decided to try this product after reading all the positive reviews, and let's be honest - who doesn't want to smell coconut in the shower - it's super yummy.

While I do not like the use of methylparaben, alcohol, or sulfates in products, I have to say that I will make an exception for this conditioner.

Since it contains a sulfate, I've found that most days I can get away without using a shampoo and my hair will still be squeaky clean with this conditioner.

Never before has my hair lasted an entire day without looking like a ball of frizz.

A little more conditioning would be awesome, since I find my hair is very tangled after using it, but once it dries - it's heavenly.

Coolaulin is the BEST Conditioner that Lush has ever made, I tried to find a replacement for it since Lush has discontinued selling this Product in there Stores and is only willing to sell it in there Retro Line of Products, but so far I have not found anything even close to this Product.

It's to bad they don't reconsider and bring it back to there Stores!

I only have a tiny bottle of it left, but I treat myself to it whenever the time is just right. I barely need that much and the smell reminds me of a pina colada... and makes me feel like I am in coconut heaven. I would use this product for everyday use, but I just dont have enough of it! I have traveled with it, and it works great on my hair in all types of climates and countries. I just love it. and, the rest is history.

I unfortunately bought the large bottle of this conditioner a while back and have had problems with it ever since. I love the smell of natural coconut (like coconut oil) but this stuff smells like old cigarettes mixed with coconut. It does't linger after the shower, but still, its not great.

I have long wavy hair that is thick but fine (I have a lot of fine hair). I find its really easy to use too much or not enough. Too much, as it doesn't rinse well leaving your hair greasy and full of residue. Not enough, and your hair is very dry. So most of the time my hair feels both greasy AND dry. I've tried using different amounts and leaving it on for longer/shorter times and I make it work, as it's expensive and I don't want to not use it. But I definitely wouldn't buy this conditioner again.

Coolaulin is hands down my favourite conditioner EVER. It conditions beautifully without weighing hair down or leaving it greasy. The scent is luscious -- light & not overly perfumed and works very well used in tandem with the Trichomania solid coconut shampoo.

PS - I was dismayed when it was discontinued at LUSH shops, especially considering my BF at the time had ALSO loved the conditioner and had used up most of my supply. So happy to see that it's now available at the Retro Shop - PLEASE CONTINUE!!

I have ridiculously thick, frizzy, curly, long hair. I love coconut and decided to give this a try. I was a disappointed to find that I needed about 1/3 of the small bottle for one conditioning as the formula is very thin and runny. It did the job of an average conditioner (just way better smelling). I do not think that I will ever repurchase this product as it really isn't compatible with my hair. I would recommend it to someone who has thinner hair as it really is a decent product. Based on my personal experience combined with the obvious potential this poduct has I'll gladly hand out 4 stars. by the way, if you want a better idea of the smell, I'd say that it's compareable to trichomania and coconut deodorant.

I have been using this conditioner for a couple of weeks, just to use it up. It makes my shower smell like burning chemicals. I was sad because I was really excited to find a bottled conditioner that does not contain parabens. I should have stuck with the Jungle Conditioner bar though. (The Jungle Bar is amazing!) I was hoping for something that would leave my hair feeling soft and very moisturized and that did not happen.

This works OK as a conditioner. I don't think for my hair type (wavy, processed) it's appropriate. It would work better for someone with finer hair.



It does leave my hair soft, but not as much as I would like. I always have to use a leave- in afterward which kind of defeats the purpose for me.



The smell is also quite off putting. In the store it smelt wonderful, but once I started using it, it's got the wet cardboard/smoky kind of smell that is not at all appealing. I'm finishing the bottle I have, since the smell doesn't linger in my hair, but this is a definite non-repurchase.

For me, this is the one conditioner that I can use every day. I have very thick and coarse Asian hair, and Coolaulin manages to smooth my flyaways and make my hair more manageable. It's a bit lighter than American Cream, and I am partial to the smell of this conditioner as well, which is evocative of a herb garden after a warm late spring rain.

well i go qauding alot (atv) and when i do that my hair is covered in dirt O.O i use this to detangle my hair.. not bad, it smells a lil bit off slightly smells like coconut...not the worst.

Ok...I admit...I wasn't too sure about this product when I first used it. I seemed to have to use quite a bit to get coverage (but I was comparing to the drugstore kinds)



Well, let me tell you, after a few tries...yowza!! Combined with Ultimate Shine shampoo, I have the most gorgeous, shiny, soft, and super healthy hair...even with my uncomfortably thick (yes, thick) wavy hair - it gave me super volume! I have been using it for a month now, and haven't had to use any styling product what-so-ever! And I now use way less than the initial coat.



I think that once I got all of the unhealthy residue off of my hair by using these healthy products - that's when my star shone through!!



The smell - undertone of coconut, but more lemony - stays with you for a long time...I like to move my head around alot just to smell it! Which make me looks kinda silly - but with hair this great - who cares!!

This was recommended to me by the lovely ladies at my local Lush store - liked the smell, especially for summer use. Although I did find that I used a lot initially (it didn't seem to give me much coverage) after a few uses it left my uncomfortably thick (yes, thick) hair smooth, shiny and gave me super body - I used to have to use tons of styling product to tame friz - I have given up on any products - I just don't need them! Or the weight!



Never have I had such healthy, soft hair! Don't give up on it too soon. It took me about half a dozen uses before I noticed a difference. I don't shampoo everyday, either. I didn't notice any greasy feel. (paired with Ultimate Shine bar)

I had tried this a few years ago when I had longer hair, and was generally unimpressed -- it did absolutely nothing for my long curls. I recently tried it again (with my new short, split end-free hair) and while I did notice a difference, I felt like I had to use a lot (a lot = ~ a handful).

On a positive note, I find it quite nice to use this as a leave-in conditioner. I use it sparingly for this, though.

As for the smell... perhaps I just got a bad bottle, but it smells like rotten/moldy coconuts.

All in all, not bad, but I don't think I'll buy it again.

I was not satisfied with this product at all. I never felt that it conditioned my hair enough or added any moisture to it. I have long, wavy, thick hair and feel that this product did not do my hair any justice; it's is probably best suited fot people with fine hair. It also didn't help my hair with tangles like most conditioners usually do.

I use this product with the trichomania solid shampoo, and it is UH-mazing!! my hair feels softer, looks shinier and smells soooo yummy after washes =D you can use a little and it will suffice for medium length hair (learned this after a few uses)..... and did i mention it makes your hair smell yummy????? XD

It doesn't feel thick like drug store brand conditioner so at first I had doubts because I need deep conditioning. I soon discovered that although it's thinner a little goes a long way. Leave it on for 4 or 5 minutes and you will be amazed at the results! My thick, frizzy, dry ends are now smooth, touchable and shiny! Give it a fair chance trust me!

Not the greatest investment. I have really dry and messy hair. After using it, I still had lots of tangles in my hair. It did not smell the greatest compared to all the other great lush products. I will be sticking with conditioners from drugstores from now on. Lush's shampoos are much better I find.
