Caca Marron Mama
How to use How it's made
1. Cut henna up into small pieces and put in a heatproof bowl. 2. Add hot water and let steep. Mix to a yogurt-like consistency. 3. Put on gloves and apply from back to front, coating hair thoroughly. 4. Cover in cling wrap for a more vibrant red. Leave on for one to six hours. 5. Rinse, shampoo, and condition hair. Tips: Always do a strand test first. Use face cream (or Ultra Bland) around your hairline and ears to protect skin. Wrap hair in cling film for a redder color. For darker, richer colors, leave on longer (up to six hours).

I have been meaning to try Lush henna for a while, but I was skeptical. I've used other Henna in the past and I really liked the results. I bought a brick of henna from Lush before and attempted a strand test and there was no change in colour whatsoever so I kind of wrote off Lush's version.

I had very grown-out blonde highlights in my very light brown hair and have been wanting a natural way to even them out for a while. After doing some more research and reading the reviews on here obsessively, I decided to give it another whack, sans strand test.

I mixed my henna with half Tetley orange pekoe tea and half hot water. I added the tea for some acidity to bring out the red. Because I'm disorganized I left it on the double boiler for a while and it turned from bright green to a very dark brown. I've heard people say Lush hennas don't need to go through that process, but in my previous attempts that didn't happen, so maybe it helped with the final results compared to my strand test.

It took about 20 minutes to get the henna on (I had help) which I left covered in saran and a towel for four hours and then rinsed it out until the chunks were gone and slept on it like that as someone else suggested. When I woke up (four hours later, sadly) I shampooed and conditioned it like I would shower normally. I didn't find it left my hair exceptionally greasy, however, even with towels on my pillow, I still ended up getting my pillow case and sheet all green. I'm glad I heeded the advice on here and used ones I didn't care about.

Ok, the good stuff: the results. Absolutely phenomenal! It started out more orangey, but it has developped into a much richer red over the last two days (the indigo takes longer to process than the henna). I did this on Sunday night (rinsed out Monday morning) and the picture is what it looks like now on Wednesday. It's still a lighter more orangey red than I was expecting, but I'm really pleased with the results and glad I didn't use Caca Rouge. I'm tempted to see what adding a block of Brun would do, but I also want to see what this looks like after a second go.

This was messy and difficult, but if you're not a total idiot about it it's not really that bad. Dark towels, clothes and sheets you don't care about, and a second person (I would never try to do this to my own hair; I'm not that coordinated) are really all you need. I enjoyed the smell, but it is very strong. Im not sure if it was the weight of the henna and the giant towel on my head, holding my head at a strange angle for four hours so the towel would stay on and the henna didn't drip down my face while I was trying to work, the scent, or a combination of the above, but I did get a wicked headache after it was all said and done. Regardless, it's nothing a little advil couldn't fix, and I did like the smell, which lingers pleasantly for a few days.

I will definitely do this again, but I wouldn't suggest it to anyone who didn't enjoy playing in the mud as a child. You're going to get dirty but it's worth the mess.

I kept mine in for 4 hours, cause I really wanted a deep colour, and I wraped it up and put a shower cap on over that. I Put a heating pad on your head the whole time. Also light candles to help combat the smell, contrary to what everyone says, it doesn't smell like coffee, it smells like used coffee grounds after a few weeks and really heavy smelling spices.

I'm not usually sensitive to smells, but an hour in it started giving me a migrane, and by the time I'd showered off, I felt really REALLY sick to the stomach, the smell didn't help and the headache lingered.

Other then that washing it off wasn't too bad, not as bad as it sounds anyways, just used lots of water and scrub off all the little coffee ground like chunks. I used a light cheap shampoo and my regular conditioner afterwards.

The colour after was great, and really complemented the faded bottle red dye, I got a nice mahogany colour, and my hair was healthier softer and shinier after, but you can't really enjoy it with the sickness enducing smell that lingers. I'm on day 5 and I can still smell it. It doesn't sound as bad as it is.

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

Loved this product! For a first time user it was a bit of an experiment trying to figure out a good consistency and method for application. Fortunately I had some help from my mother who is a hair dye expert, although she will be the first to say that this was definitely nothing like regular hair dye. Initially the consistency was much too dry resulting in a crumb-like texture, plus we did not mix enough to cover my entire head. When we prepared a second batch with a runnier consistency, the application process was tremendously easer. After wrapping my hair in saran wrap and waiting for 4 hours before washing, I was definitely worried about the result. My goal was not to change my natural hair colour too much (dark brown, multiple shades) but rather to cover up the greys scattered throughout. I could not be happier with the result, my greys are undetectable, blended in perfectly with the rest of my hair which now has a very slight hint of red. Completely natural looking, exactly what I was hoping for. Will definitely continue to use the Lush Caca Marron Hair Henna.

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

After years of itchy, irritable scalp from chemical hair dyes, your Caca product is wonderful. It is not as drying as the old henna powders, and my first application left a wonderful colour on my brown/grey hair. However, I missed the greys at my temples, so I did it again a few days later... now I have bright orange temples!!!!! There is a lot of information on the Internet about how to prepare henna, how to maximize or minimize colour, and what to do when one obtains a colour one doesn't want. LUSH should provide more info with it. Otherwise, it is a great product.

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

That my hair looks as amazing as it does is the only reason I can stand to use this product. The colour is gorgeous... a beautiful dark (natural) red with lots of highlights (my hair is a light/medium brown with some goldish highlights). If my hair looked anything less than a 10/10, I wouldn't bother with this henna... it's the messiest product I've ever used.

I have pretty short, fine hair. I can get all the henna applied (down to the roots) in under 10 minutes. Within 2-3 minutes though, it's starting to dry and crumble off (the henna, not my hair). It's falling down my back, front, into my ears - and this is making it as liquidy as possible without it just running right off my head. I spend 15 minutes putting it on my hair and clingwrapping, and another 30 cleaning up what looks like a Dexter crime scene in my bathroom. I have spare towels that have more henna on them than my hair.

A few months ago, I picked up some new bars and the salesperson told me they had improved the colour and consistency... NOPE. The colour was the same, and I didn't think it was possible, but it got even messier.

It's like Lush's cruel trick: just what lengths are you willing to go to for awesome hair?

I really do like the outcome, so I suffer through it. I also wrap my head in clingwrap afterwards and throw on a touque - the wrap and warmth really help the product develop well. I leave it on for 4-6 hrs. To rinse, I just sit on a small stool in the shower, lean over, and use the shower-head to rinse out all the little bits. Wash and shampoo as normal (I find a liquid shampoo works better to get out all the remaining coffee grounds and oils). Make sure not to sleep on a pillowcase you love for the first few nights as the colour will keep rubbing off for a few days.

For the first 2-3 days it's got a gold-ish yellow tint, but that darkens quite quickly. I haven't noticed any fading for at lest 6-8wks.

So go forth and henna.. but have a drink first so you don't end up throwing everything out the window in frustration.

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

My hair got more than 20 years of dyes... Always used chemical but this Caca changed totally my way to get my auburn color! I mixed 1 1/2 square of Caca Marron with 1 1/2 of Caca Rouge and I got an amazing result (was for lower than shoulder thin hair). I did the math. 2 bars, 4 dyes, [$]? What an amazing deal for get an amazing result, soft, shiny hair and no more chemical.!!! It cover the gray and I can build my color over time without harming my hair.I did expect messy but it was really not that bad, seriously. Smell is like fresh grass and not too much hard if not stuck in a closet. I can not live without that product from now on! Thank you LUSH!!!

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

I used this product twice. My hair was box dyed a dark brown/almost black to match my roots, then I had golden highlights on top, and damaged hair from sun and chlorine 4x a week. My hair is average thickness and length probably to my bra line. The first time I used it I was sceptical of my hair turning too red so I added coffee when I mixed up the henna using 4 squares. I put the henna in a bag and smashed it up with a rock, much less time consuming then trying to grate the whole thing. I applied it and threw a shower cap over top and washed it out after 5 hours. The colour was not a drastic change, it toned down my high lights with a bit of red but basically had no change to my natural roots, but my hair felt HEALTHIER. After about 3 weeks, the colour had really faded. So for the second try, I used 5 squares of the henna adding coffee again with the coffee grounds. I applied it at night, saran wrapped my head and put a shower cap over top. This still did not protect my pillow, a brown oily residue dripped out the bottom of my cap and completely ruined my pillow. Oh well. Overall the henna was left in about 12 hours. I shampooed about 3 times with lush solid shampoo bar. Now my hair is a beautiful auburn brown with redish highlights. My hair does feel thicker, but not as soft as it felt the first time I used the henna dye. I am definitely sticking with the natural dyes to my hair grows nice and long, it is a nice change to have healthy hair that is not black.

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

I bought the caca marron hoping for a subtle and natural looking change, and that is exactly what I got! The process was messy, but if you're prepared, and have someone to help, it is really not that bad. I've read many complaints about the smell, but I personally loved it! It even stays for a few days, which is nice. My hair is medium thick, shoulder length curly medium brown hair, so i only used half of the bar (it was enough!). I left the colour in for a total of about 3 hours, maybe more. Instead of washing out, I rinsed out the colour the night before, and slept on it, leaving my hair soaking in the remaining cocoa butter. It took about 3 total washes to get all the cocoa butter out, but the end result was awesome! My hair was so shiny and radiant. Over three days the colour progressed and is now a natural looking brown, with red hints that really look amazing in sunlight. Overall, I had a great experience, and will continue to use this product!

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

I have been dying my hair red with both drug store and professional dyes for 13 years. My hair was really feeling it, and besides this damage I naturally I have thin, dry, frizzy hair anyway. Since I started using this product, the improvement is immaculate. It has a great NATURAL brown color with red undertones. The more I use it, the richer and deeper the color becomes. Anyone looking for that extremely vibrant fake-ish red colour probably would not benefit from this product.

How I did this: I started by placing a ceramic bowl with 3 blocks of this product (I have hair just passing my chest, very thin) in a pot of boiling water. I poured a cup of hot orange pekoe tea on top of the blocks in the ceramic bowl; I would've used a red tea but this was all I had. I also added paprika as recommended to bring out the red undertones. The actual process of placing it in my hair was no messier than using drug store hair dye, the only difference is having to wash the ceramic bowl and the pot used to melt the henna. The first time I used this I tried grating the henna instead of melting, I would recommend NOT to do this because it is a lot messier, more difficult/time consuming, and the time it takes for the henna to melt is also time given to the henna to start reacting (meaning the time it takes for the henna to be ready to put in your hair). When it's grated, you have to watch for a color change (from a bright green to a more dark brown) which is sort of like a guessing game for first time users.

When it was finally done, it looked green in my hair. I wrapped two plastic bags on my head, but it still leaked out onto my pillow! :( I know from previous experience that it does not stain clothes and will wash out. However it's still a bit of a hassle to wash my things. I went to bed, so it was probably in my hair for 14-16 hours.

The result? Beautiful, shiny hair! The henna gave it body, my normally flat limp hair is so nice and full, and once again the SHINE!! The color is fantastic as well as I mentioned already above, and it will get better over the next few days as it develops in my hair. All the mess is REALLY worth it!

My only issue is that while Lush provides gloves to protect your hands through the application process, it does not provide anything to cover your head with after. I had no saran wrap and the bags were ineffective in keeping it from leaking onto my pillow. If Lush were to provide the optional head wrap for the waiting period, it would be a 5/5 product! For this reason (and because of my poor pillow) I've given it a 4/10. Amazing product though if you have limp, dull, fried, frizzy hair USE THIS!! I'll never ever go back to box dyes.

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

I bought this product because I read many amazing reviews about it, and I have to say I'm very disappointed.

I have very long, dark-brown/almost black hair that has a lighter brown shade to it in the sun. I thought I'd use this product to bring a bit more red to my hair under the sun. I didn't expect much, I knew this product wouldn't work magic , and I was going for a subtle red either way.

The first time I used this product was 4 days ago, I followed the instructions but the I washed it off way too quickly (3hrs) , and was very disappointed to see it did absolutely nothing to my hair. I waited 3 days to see if any colour showed up, but it didn't. I still wasn't discouraged, because I knew I was at fault for leaving it on for only 3 hrs. So I went back to the store yesterday, again I follow the instructions and this time I left it in my hair overnight (about 10 hours). I washed to off and again to my great disappointed I didn't see any colour at all. I saw a few strands that were a bit brownish but thats about it.

I wasted $60 in this past week on this product and I'm not happy about it.
I'm sure for people with lighter hair , had better results but for people with hair like mine I definitely would not recommend it. I know a lot of people said that this product makes your hair really soft, and shiny. But my hair was already like that to start off with so I couldn't tell the difference.
Overall, this product was a waste of my time and money.

I recently decided to use only all natural hair products on my hair. I've used Henna in the past for my hair and I've loved it. It's a subtle change for sure, but my hair is shinier, healthier and softer overall. It also fades out as well so you don't get that awkward roots/ line of different hair colour.

Although it doesn't smell great (what kidn of hair dye does?!) it's totally worth it!!!

I got tired of my boring brown hair and wanted to add a little colour. So I decided to dye it. I went with LUSH's Henna dye because I wanted something that was healthy for my hair and wouldn't thin it out.
I found that it was very hard to use and smelt so bad. it would also leak while wrapped up with the plastic. I also found that washing it out of my hair was a absolute nightmare.
But once I saw the colour it left in my hair, it was all worth it. My hair looked and felt great! I got so many complemnts and the colour lasted a long time. So overall although it is difficult to use the results are amazing!

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

Okay so before I bought this, I read all these reviews and everyone said the results were great but the process was horrible and they were all right. My friend was the one who actually recommended it to me and I was like sure, why not. So I went into the store and bought caca marron and I was so nervous. I've never died my hair before nor have I done anything extreme to it. Anyways, I got home super excited to try it out and preparing it took so loooooong. I had to cut pieces off, shave/grate the pieces then, put the water in. it was just a mucky mess. Mixing it and stuff was fine but, once I had to take it and put it in my hair, All hell broke loose! I was laughing the whole time saying " im going to kill my friend who told me to do this " but it was a fun experience. I finished applying it at 10:00 pm , slept on it and took it out at amathround 3:00 pm the next day so alomst 17 hours I think. ( I dont know I'm bad at math ) anyways again, I was not excited to take it out of my hair, There are all these little grainy bits in the henna and I did not want it all clogged up in my bathroom so I went outside, put my rainboots on and bent over. not to mention it was 0 degrees out here in Toronto. haha so I was upside down trying to wash the particles and green stuff out of my hair and I was able to get most of it out. Then the rest I just washed in the shower. If you don't shampoo it, it will be oily and stuck together but once youve shampooed and conditioned and massaged your head. oh my goodness its amazing. haha, My hair has never felt softer, and I have dark dark dark dark asian dark brown hair and it put this nice light brown/chestnut shine/glow in my hair and I LOVE IT ! :D

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

I have mousy brown hair that has started to show a lot of grey. I used to use chemical dyes but they started to burn my scalp within 5 minutes. I had resigned myself to going completely grey, which I just wasn't ready for, when my daughter introduced me to LUSH. Am I ever glad she did. I decided to try the marron because I always liked a bit of red. I then did some research.
I grated one and a half squares (I keep my hair very short), added hot water and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar( I heard that it would help the color adhere to grey hair which has a harder time absorbing color) put on gloves and just slapped it on. It was easy. I rolled up some paper towel and wrapped it around my head just below my hairline to soak up any drips. I then put on a plastic bag, then a toque to hold the bag on and keep in the heat and settled in for 6 hours of movie time.
It was relatively easy to wash out. Any bits that were hard to rinse out came out with just some cheap conditioner. The color looked awesome and got better as the days went by. The greys turned into beautiful coppery red highlights.
Some reviews said that the color washed out but I found that mine did not. It grew out.
My hair looks better and feels better than it ever has. THANK YOU LUSH!

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

I followed the directions that came with the henna color and at first had it a little thicker (like the brownie batter suggested) but about half way through added a little more water to it and it went on a lot easier with more water. I let it sit on for about 5 hours, I would have let it sit longer if i could have but I didnt want to go to bed with it. So next time I will apply it early in the day. I was hoping for a little bit darker color, but that is prob my own fault for not getting the black. But the color is amazing! I didnt want it to be too red so I didnt put plastic wrap on it. It is like a redish brown purple. Really great color! Looks amazing. My hair also feels so thick and soft! Its incredible, even after salon treatments it doesnt feel like this. It was a PAIN to get out though, lol. I had to shampoo like 3 times, but thats not a big deal. Next time I am gona try the caca noir for a darker color. But I wont go back to box dyes, its so bad for your hair and the lush henna color made my hair feel so good! I will give it a few days to develop and hopefully darken a little more but for anyone looking for a dark brown color with a auburn tinge, this is your color! LOVE. Thank you lush.

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

I bought this dye with great hope in my heart. I am a big fan of the soaps and bathbombs by Lush, and was really excited to try something new. I was lured in by the 'all natural' and 'easy on hair' claims, plus the sales lady at my local store gushing about how wonder it is. She said it felt like a hair treatment. I don't know what kind of hair treatments she had in the past, but I'm never going to her salon.

My problems started with preparing the dye. I tried cutting it, and had so much trouble with it I had to use a food processor. I added boiling water, and it sat for an hour without doing anything. I tried mixing it, hoping it would blend but it stayed the consistancy of chunky vomit. It smelt like it too. When I finally got it to any semblance to a paste, things just got worse. I wore gloves of course, and tried so hard to be neat but my entire bathroom was coated in under five minutes. Did I mention it smelt terrible? When it finally all got on my head, I wrapped it up in plastic and waited. And waited. And waited. I wanted a really vibrant colour, so I planned to leave it in for a good few hours. That proved much more difficult than I thought it would be as it all started leaking under the plastic and down my back. I got some in my eye and it puffed up like a bee stung my eyelid. I finally couldn't take it anymore and after two and a half hours I washed it out. It took over an hour in the shower to get all the gritty little bits out of my hair.

When I finally had it all out, I stood proudly infront of the mirror to see... no change in my colour, what so ever. I'm naturally a dirty blond, and oh my goodness I literally could not see any difference. Starting to panic, I told myself it would look better when it dried. Nope. In the next week, not one person, not even my best friend who sees me every day, saw a difference. There was only the slightest, tinsiest hint of red in my tips under the glaring sun. As a bonus, my hair continued to smell terrible, look dull, and be disgustingly greasy for almost two weeks after I used the stupid stuff. I went for a deep shampoo and condition at my salon well over a month after I did the 'treatment' and I could still smell its awful stench.

TL:DR; It was a ridiculous amount of effort for little to no payoff. My hair was greasy, it smelt terrible and application/cleanup was a total pain in the behind.

This product is great for me, I add cinnamon while mixing it to bring out more red, as reviews suggested and its aboslutly perfect! I have very light auburn hair as is, but it gets so dull and in the winter months so this henna really brightens and brings out my natural color all year round! I have shoulder length hair and only need to use one block to make a nice thick mixture that covers all my hair, it lasts me all year!

The down side is of course, that i have to have a whole day set aside to grate the block, mix it up, leave it in for six hours, covered, and another hour or so to get it all rinsed out

Comments about Caca Marron Mama Hair Henna:

Okay, so I bought this hair dye after reading many many reviews of it and studying how to best apply it. It sat in my cupboard for about a month before I attempted my first henna hair dye experience. Overall I really enjoyed the experience and I love the color. Its natural and healthy looking, but gives enough of a difference in color to make all the work worth it.

I should also mention that I have been dying my hair every variation of red for 15 yrs and I have always used boxed hair dyes. Recently I have noticed that my hair seems thinner and more fragile, so I thought maybe I should lay off the chemical dyes and find an option that would help my hair, not hinder its health.

I would say that yes this process is messy, and yes it is very time consuming, so make sure you have a long afternoon to do it right.

Firstly I laid out newspapers on my kitchen counter, and grated 3 squares of the dye into a heatproof bowl. (My hair is just above my shoulders and I probably could have used only 2 squares, but my hair is thin so use your judgement when deciding how much to use) Then I boiled water in a kettle and with a wooden spoon slowly poured the water into the bowl about 1/4 cup at a time and mixed as I went until it reached a yogurt like consistency. Let it cool until you are comfortable enough to start applying. It tends to thicken a bit as it cools so keep the kettle hot in case you have to add some more water. I found the smell to be pleasant, like coffee and flowers, definitely better than the super strong chemical smell you get with regular dyes. That was the 1st thing my boyfriend noticed as he is always complaining that I stink up the bathroom with my hair colors! Also it is messy if you are not careful, so make sure you protect your shoulders with a towel and I laid old towels on the floor of my bathroom. Use rubber gloves and I put Vaseline across my hairline and on the back of my ears to protect my skin from stains. I did still manage to drip some on the floor and on my skin, but I was happily surprised when it washed off with soap relatively well and did not stain at all (I have a couple red spots on my floors from previous hair coloring that never did wash out)

For application I divided my hair into sections and started at the top and worked my way to the sides and back. A helpful tip is to buy a professional hair color brush from a beauty supply store and use it to brush on your dye evenly. I got one for 1.25, and it was great. I would have had a much bigger mess to deal with if not for that brush. I also bought shower caps from the dollar store to use to avoid drips while you wait for the dye to set in.

Which lead me to the worst part- waiting!! I am not a patient person so this was the hardest part, but I wanted to make sure I got my moneys worth so I stayed the course. After all the dye was applied I wrapped my head in cling wrap, and put on the shower cap and settled in for the rest of the afternoon. The instructions online say to wait anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, I lasted 4 before my head started to ache. Your hair will look greenish, but don't worry that's normal.(My neighbor popped by during my wait and she was very worried that I had mad a big hair mistake!)When I was ready I jumped into the shower and started to slowly rinse out the dye (its grainy too), and then followed with 2 shampoos and a thorough conditioning (I used just cheap drug stop shampoo and conditioner). The result was shiny, healthy looking Auburn hair with coppery highlights. It really looks like my natural color! I was hoping for a bit darker but my hair was pretty light already from the summer sun, so next time I may try to leave it in for the full 6 hours.

I am a LUSH addict, but this was a BIG chance to take on my hair. It was worth the time and effort. Its been a few days and my hair seems to be getting more and more red with every wash, which I love. I may try to caca rouge next time and really try to get as red as I can. I think this product is gently and effective, and for the price I can get 3 colorings out of a brick which is cheaper than boxed dye at almost 15 dollars a pop for the better stuff. Try it if you have some experience doing home hair color, or have a friend come and help you. I love it!

            A:

Generally, any of our products would be fine for use during pregnancy provided there aren't any unique circumstances or particular ingredients in them that your doctor has told you to avoid during this time. Because everyone has individual health needs and differences, if you are at all concerned about using any products during pregnancy, I would really recommend consulting with your doctor with the ingredients list first. Some doctors do not like essential oils to be used during pregnancy, and we do use small amounts of them in most of our products, so please do check with a doctor you trust beforehand if you are uncertain.

You can find the ingredients list for each product on their product page on the website under the "QI" tab which stands for "Quantitative Ingredients". We also list the ingredients in our LUSH Times catalog, so it may be handy to bring a copy with you to the doctor to discuss if needed.

Can you mix the Red and Marron bars to make an in-between colour? I love bright red, but I know henna has orangey tones, so I would want to try a little tamer first to see how it comes out. I don't want only the Marron because I don't want my hair to come out too dark.

So my hair is naturally light blonde, but I've been dying it dark brown / black for a few years now. My question is this: if I have short dark brown / blackish hair with a little bit of roots showing, will this product be right for me? Should I first cover my roots with a chemical dye and THEN use this? I've had too many hair disasters to chance it. THANKS!

            A:

To cover roots, it's probably better to stick with Caca Brun or Caca Noir, since Caca Marron will show up quite brightly on lighter roots. Once you've used one of those darker hennas to cover the roots, you can apply Caca Marron over it! As always, we recommend doing a strand test before doing the full application, just to make sure you'll be getting the effect you're looking for!

Our hennas are tested on hair that has not been previously color treated, and so the color outcomes that we suggest the henna will give are based on the results that we have tested for. As with all color treatments, we would recommend doing a strand test ahead of time and, if you are happy with the end result, then coloring the rest of the hair.

The results would be very, very subtle on hair that is quite dark. You might see some warm tones under direct light, but the results will not be bright or drastic. I'd recommend a strand test first to see if you like the colour.
