Inhale, exhale, just breathe

Breath of God is such a complex fragrance, you’ll pick up different notes every time you smell it. While on a trip to Tibet, LUSH perfumer Simon was inspired by the fresh clean air of the mountains and the smoky scents from the Tibetan temples. He rushed home to create his first perfumes, which he called Inhale and Exhale. Inhale is a light, melony scent while Exhale is a deep, smoky incense scent. He combined the two fragrances into one wonderful olfactory experience and called it Breath of God. The melony citrus moves into deeper, sandalwood and cedarwood undertones and it develops through the day, continuously revealing new facets as you wear it.

Features

  • A five-star fragrance: One of Simon’s first perfumes, Breath of God was called a “triumph” by reviewer Tania Sanchez, who also wrote, “Wearing it, I feel a sense of wonder that so late in the perfume game there can still be such a profound invention”.
  • For him and her: An enigmatic perfume, perfect for men or women.
  • Main notes: Neroli, lemon, melon, jasmine, rose, vetivert, sandalwood, cedarwood, amber and musk.

Warning - you may not want your mate to wear this out in public. My husband tested this product last night, and I have never smelled a fragrance that has aroused me this much. I couldn't stop sniffing him, and the scent lasted a long time. A complete stranger stopped him on the street to ask him what he was wearing. I have to buy this for him. It is the most unique sceent I have ever smelled - fruity and woodsy all at once.

I bought the solid perfume form of "Breath of God" online, scent unsmelled. I've bought perfumes from Lush online before with great success... I find their descriptions very accurate. Anyhow, the description for "Breath of God" sounded right up my alley -- exotic, woody, fresh and smokey. When I first got it, it wasn't quite what I expected, but I couldn't put my finger on what was wrong. Well, when I finally decided to wear a little bit of it, my family kindly informed me that, unfortunately, I smelled the way smelly old men do -- the ones that keep putting more and more nasty cologne on and never shower. Then I realized that they were absolutely right! Needless to say, I shall NOT be wearing this again in public.

Maybe a guy would have more success wearing it??

I hated this when it first hit my skin. About an hour after, I love it. Im not sure if it is how the scent combines with your body chemistry or just the way it is designed, but there is definitely a mystery about it. I literally originally found it repulsive and then amazing/unique/delicious/sexy/outdoorsy smelling. Also Im a female and thought it smelled like it was for a man, but it could go either way. Im just used to wearing very feminine scents like vanilla and florals, but Im very happy to broaden my horizons with this unique scent.

Comments about LUSH Breath of God Perfume:

This is just the worst smelling thing in the world. As soon as I smelled it I instantly had a migraine. It's just so bad. Seriously. This must be what evil smells like. I might end up using it to repel people I don't like, because keeping people with olfactory senses far, far away is really the only purpose I can see this perfume serving.

Comments about LUSH Breath of God Perfume:

Last year, I travelled to India and visited McLeod Ganj, the home of the Tibetan government in exile and the Dalai Lama. I loved the peacefulness I found there and missed it after I returned home. A little while later, I walked into my local LUSH and decided to try it out. As the scent warmed on my skin, I was immediately reminded of the scent of the temples and touched a little piece of that tranquility through the memory the fragrance awoke.

I love this stuff. I rarely wear perfumes and find very few of them suit me, but this is the perfect fragrance for me.

Comments about LUSH Breath of God Perfume:

I sprayed this on in store and didn't really like it at first. I thought it smelled weird, and I wish I knew more about the individual scents so I could say why I thought that (I still do). But then the next day I was sitting in my room and something smelled really, really good. I sniffed around in my LUSH bag... smelled good in there but not what I was smelling. I finally figured out that it was my coat sleeves! I couldn't stop burying my face in my coat! My roommates bought it for me for my birthday and I've been spraying it on my clothes (don't wreck your clothes! I've just been spraying it on the inside of my coat collar and things like that) for a warm, intoxicating scent that lasts a long time!

I got this in the solid form, and the first time I used it, I noticed a greasy residue from over-application (you don't need much!) It's not a conventional smelling perfume, but if you think you're going to like this, you probably will. It's surprisingly fresh for such a smoky, musky scent, and that's a definite plus. I found this a little strong at first. It tones down as it dries, but the subtleness is nice. Incredible, really unique scent.

I went to LUSH one day to sample the perfumes (none of them were good), and, reading the description online, I had high expectations for 'Breath of God'. But, oh my! It stunk to high heaven!

If this is the 'breath of God', it must mean God has been not brushing his teeth, eating smelly foods, and smoking!

It is long lasting, but why anyone would want this to last long I don't know!
