I bought this online, and it was the first body butter I've used. I was disappointed that mine didn't smell like peanut butter, just slightly of roses; couldn't really smell the sandalwood. When I used it I just cut off a piece because everyone else mentioned how fast it went in the shower, I used if after I turned off the water. It does melt fast, it turns sort of milky, like those oils that mix with water do. It's definately not heavy. When I use it I smell a sort of salty undertone, definately not peanutty though. Once dry all I smell is a light floral. Good for someone that doesn't want a heavy moisturizer. Almost perfect, one star off for synthetics.

I've been using Aqua Mirabilis in the shower and I really love how exfoliating it is and how it makes my skin feel. It has a great smell and my skin in so much softer after I use it. The problem is that it goes to quickly, I have only gotten 3 uses out of the bar and its almost gone! Another issue I had was that I stored it in a body butter tin and it ended up moulding a little (which was an unpleasant surprise to come across in the shower!). If Lush could figure out a way to make this last a little longer or make it a little cheaper I would be much happier with the product, but as a student I just can't afford to keep using it. Love it but it is not the perfect product for me.

Comments about LUSH Aqua Mirabilis:

This is my favourite body butter by far. I have very dry skin, so I appreciate the combination of exfoliation and moisturizing, without feeling greasy or creating a lethally slippery tub.

It smells like wet peanut butter when I use it, which I don't find all that pleasant, but the smell doesn't stick around. The way my skin feels afterwards is completely worth it. It doesn't last long, so I save it as a special treat for when I need cheering up.

Comments about LUSH Aqua Mirabilis:

I LOVE aqua mirablis the only thing I DON'T like is that it doesn't last long. I started out using it outside of the shower and loved it, it was a nice feeling to 'scratch' all over with the almonds in it and it left me very soft. However after awhile it just works best in the shower. It doesn't last long though which is disapointing. I also love that it smells amazing!

THE BEST THING I'VE EVER FOUND AT LUSH! My life isn't the same when my bathroom is missing Aqua Mirabilis. My favorite time to use it is post-shave on my legs. It leaves them insanely smooth and soft, its a must try if you're a Lush lover. I love the bit of exfoliation it gives and it has an addicting chocolate milk scent. No lotion necessary after using. The only thing I don't love about it (and I hate to admit) is that it only last 3-4 uses on my legs/body.

Softer alternative to Buffy

Pros

  • Absorbs Quickly
  • Goes On Smoothly
  • Not Greasy
  • Smells Great

Cons

  • Not Long-Lasting
  • Not very moisterizing

Best Uses

  • After Shower/Bath

Comments about LUSH Aqua Mirabilis:

This is a great alternative if you are looking for something that is not as abrasive as Buffy. It goes on very creamy; however it does not moisturize as well as Buffy. I did need to use some lotion after a few hours as I do have dry skin, but I think this would be great for normal skin types. I liked that it did not leave my bathtub as treacherously slick as Buffy. It wears down very quickly though, based on the first use I would expect to get about 5 more uses from it. Would be great to have a larger oz option.

I've only had this bar for around 2 weeks and I store it in a tin. I like the product but it is sprouting mold. Gross. Maybe it was old when I bought it maybe I'm storing it wrong but I'm def not happy with it. Mold is a deal breaker Lush.

Wow! Another amazing Lush product. I've tried Buffy before, but didn't like the greasy aspect of it. This one is just perfect for my taste. It is smooth, easy to use, the smell is...so fantastic, it's a very gentle exfoliant and makes your skin so soft! I wish I could eat it_ When I use it, I don't stay under the shower water because it can melt pretty fast and I let it dry out before putting it back in the tin.

I was very disappointed with this product. Although it smelled OK in the store, I agree with previous reviewers who said that it smells like peanut butter when you are using it. I didn't find that it moisturized very well, in fact I had to use additional lotion after I'd dried off. This product is pretty expensive, but it would be worth it if it worked. It does not, however, and smells bad! I feel like I wasted my money.

I absolutely love the smell of this body butter! It smells a little bit like chocolate but definitely nutty! I have eczema so my skin gets very dry, red and irritated but this did not irritate my skin at all. I loved how it exfoliated my skin but was still gentle. It wasn't super moisturizing but I mainly bought this product to exfoliate my skin so it didn't matter to me. To make mine last I turn off the shower and rub it all over and then using the almond shells and just rub in my skin so I don't have to use too much product. To prevent it from growing mold, I leave it in the tin opened so that it can air dry and once it's fully dry I close the tin and put it away. I find that if I leave it in wet than it start to grow mold. I would definitely be buying this product again!

          My favourite body butter!

Loved the way it made my skin feel, it wasn't too harsh, and it smells amazing. I had tried Buffy first, but found it a bit too greasy for my skin type. Aqua Mirabilis I would buy again and again.

...which is why I could only give this 4 stars instead of 5. I wish these body butters lasted longer!

The best solution I've found is to rub enough of the product on my skin to be able to spread it around, and then place the bar outside of the spray (or outside of the shower, if possible), let it dry after use, and either keep it in a dish or a soap box, completely out of the shower area. Worth all the trouble for the awesome exfoliating/moisturizing effect, though!

I've never been big on using a body cream or moisturizer since I've never really suffered from dry skin but after trying some of AM at the store I FELL in LOVE!!!!! This is one of the best exfoliating and moisturizing bars ever! Some people may not like the smell, but personally I think the smell is heaven, it smells like a yummy Reese's chocolate bar. Its great because it exfoliates and leaves your skin sooooo smooth and soft, but don't worry its gentle enough to use everyday!

However, I would advise you not to rub this all over like a bar of soap because it melts quickly, so just one sweep all over and your good to go!

I had this stubborn red rash on my legs after having some sort of allergic reaction to using simple Epsom Salt in my bath, so I went into LUSH and asked what was good because I hadn't been there before this. This woman told me she had Psoriasis AND Eczema and she used this with Dream Cream and she was cured. Within a few days of using both my legs are returning to normal! You might have to sacrifice those gourmet coffees because it is pricey, but SO worth it! I really enjoy the smell, too. Dunno why people here are saying it smells gross.

                Comments about LUSH Aqua Mirabilis:

So I bought aqua mirabilis about 2 weeks ago and I use it every second or third day in the shower. I have to be quick when using it because it melts VERY fast. I suffer from ridiculously bad dry rashy eczema skin and this helps to exfoliate all the flakes and alligator skin away as well as moisturize at the same time. I still need to slather on lotion after i'm out of the shower but if I don't have time and I need to skip that then my skin doesn't feel as tight and itchy if I use this. It's not as exfoliating as Buffy but it's definitely not greasy like Buffy. And thank goodness it doesn't smell like Buffy either cause I hate the smell of that body butter. Rather AM smells very nutty. Not the greatest smell in the world but it didn't have me holding my breath like Buffy does. Overall great exfoliation, pretty good moisturizer, bearable smell. Only concern with this body butter was that today when I went to use it in the shower I opened my tupperware that I keep it in and it was growing a little bit of mold. Is that normal???

I'm not TOO wild about the smell, it kind of reminds me of oatmeal, but it's pleasant enough and does grow on you. It's more exfoliating and grittier than You Snap The Whip, my other favourite body butter, so its best to use on dry, calloused areas. I love using it on my feet after a long day.

I absolutely LOOOOVE this product! Unfortunately, It dissolves very quickly (I turned off the water when I used it).The smell is so creamy and nutty and it does wonders for my dry skin! Maybe keeping it in the fridge or freezer might help this product last?? I'll give that a try!
